I grouped with a Templar yesterday who was the same lvl as me (both lvl 40 at the time) and it was plainly obvious that she had group cures and I hadnt.

Do we get them? I'd have thought that by lvl 40 I should have them by now but after going back through my spell list I cant find them. It'd make such a difference having them. Curing is a pain in the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] doing it individually.

Thanks for any response in advance :smileyhappy:

Defilers get group Noxious cure (I believe mine is called Mail of Spirits or something like that).  Not sure what level you get it at though.

I can't believe you are level 40 and didn't know we have a group heal! It's called "Accretion", and you first get it at level 14, then again at level 28 (Profane Accretion), level 42 (Venal Accretion), level 56 (Banal Accretion), and level 70 (Impious Accretion).

To be honest though I don't use it as much as I do as the Balm line or my wards because it takes so long to cast.

No, she is referring to the group noxious cure.  Cure: Mail of Souls is lvl 42 for defilers and it will cure trauma and noxious effects on the group.  All priests get their group cure at 42 so the OP must have been mistaken.  If you were 40 and he were 42, he would have his cure already.

Thanks for all the replies - indeed it was the cures I was talking about as opposed to group heals/wards (which I agree can take an age to cast).

I realised my problem with the lvl of the templar, she was a high level who was mentoring. At least there's only one more level to go before the group cures kick in - I bet they're a power drain though.

Ah ok - thanks for clarifying that. I'm not sure how I'll be using the group cures then, since I use a modded UI that allows me to cast "Cure" just by clicking the icon next to the player's name. It's much more effcient than targeting, then hitting a hotkey.

The one I use is ProfitUI Reborn. I love it because right next to all of my group members names are tiny icons for Cure Arcane, Cure Trauma, Cure Elemental, and Cure Noxious. So once they get something on them the icon fills out (with a number if there is more than one effect on them) and I can quickly click on the icon to cast the appropriate cure without having it on my toolbar taking up space.

The other thing I like about it is that it pops up a timer icon for my debuffs, wards and dots (complete with a numeric countdown timer), so I can see what I have up and how long before it runs out.

Once you get about 3+ ppl with an effect on them, it becomes more power efficient (also time efficient) to cast the group cure as opposed to hitting the single target cure for each person ;P Also I'm pretty sure you don't need any target at all to cast a group cure so your reason there is also moot if I'm not mistaken.

True, you don't need to target someone for the group cure. Also, the single cures are more power efficient for single targets whereas the group cures are better for multiple targets (3+ sounds about right). That's why I have made the clickable icons in ProfitUI to only use the single target cures (other than some other mods which use the group cures if available).

1) I usually group with only one or two people, so as of right now it's just easier to use the cure icons to cure individuals since curing individuals does require a correct target, plus it's rare that we all have the same negative effect on us at once.

2) I don't have the group cure yet anyway, so seems you are the one making a moot point SMILEY

You made ProfitUI?  /worship  I love that UI - it's so user-friendly and works really well for me as a Defiler. Thanks!

Nah, Profit made ProfitUI, hence the name, but he left the game a while ago. I'm continuing the work on the UI, though, to make it even better (e.g. the heal-buttons). Glad you like it. SMILEY

Ahh gotcha. Well it's an awesome UI - you are doing great work with it! I have one teeny problem with it that I'll send you a PM about (if you don't mind) so I'm not making the thread go off-topic further.

Edit: Nevermind - just discovered you can't receive PM's. Basically the problem I keep having is that the "timer icons" for things like my buffs, wards, debuffs, DoT's, etc. keeps disappearing. These are the larger icons that (for me at least) appear on the left side of the screen with a timer on them once the effect is applied (effect being like a ward or DoT or buff.) I really love that feature because it helps me keep track of which effects need to be reapplied when, but for some reason it will disappear on me after a few logins, and the only way to get it back is to delete the character UI file and remake my UI,which becaomes a hassle to do after the first several times. Any suggestions? Should I post this someplace else?

Thanks!

Is there a way to get ONLY the cure modifier --- I love this feature - but my kick back is that after every LU I have to wait for the programers to fix and update the custom UI before I can even play - and sometimes I log on right after the servers come up.

I know I sound silly - but I would love to have the push button cure next to the group members names - without having to ditch the whole UI and wait for patches with the UI's

You're one lvl away and you brought up not being sure on how you'll use it and why.. was just pointing out the reason for using it as opposed to not using it.  I'm sorry I didn't know your personal grouping preferences and was just trying to help.

Xova, I think it's Alt-M to open the maintained spells window. No idea why it disappears though. The other possibility I see is that you might have accidentally scrolled it out of sight using your mouse wheel. If you have further questions, better post here.Kimage, I'm pretty sure that you'll find group-window only mods with those buttons on eq2interface.com.
