Hello SMILEYLvl 55 defiler here - I started my ahievement exp and chose the str path since I think the last effect is worth while (but we will see)My problem is that "leg bite" requires dual wield or 1h great spear or spear to work.Right now I am carrying imbued ironwood wand which has 14wis and 50 power. I cannot find anything that is just NEAR that in dual wield, 1h great spear or spear.I was thinking about choosing the wis path for my second but it requires that I have a symbol in my secondary and right now I have imbued ironwood buckler which is also a really good item and there are no symbols that match this.Am I looking in the wrong places or is it a flaw in SOE's planning - or what?I hope someone out there can tell me about this.Thank you SMILEY

It's just a matter of priorities and choices.  Which is more important to you, 14wis 50 power, or 16 dps at level 4 + interrupts?  Personally, I'll take the interrupts and dps for soloing.  In a group the wis will be more useful because you won't make a significant contribution to group dps.

Basically, they are trying to make the game so that you actually have a reason to use an assortment of equipment to adapt to situations instead of just using one set of armor and 1 weapon as many people do now.

Generally, these Advancment Skills are better than the plain stats of any given item, at least situationally.

They are simply making equipment selection about more than simply stat comparison.  Now the abilities that go along with them matter as much as the base stats.

Personally, I'm going to max my AGI line except for Ancestral Spirits.  I'm going to use what's left to max out Ritual.  That way I can use the 2h spear when I solo and use a symbol when I group.  Maxed out Ritual will increase heals about 48%.  Much better than a +5.84% heal crit chance.  I'll just have to settle for +2.9% heal crit.

Thank you very much for answering SMILEYSo basically I need to carry 2 sets of armor and weapons with me - one for raid and one for group...since all the new gear in KoS has little to no resists, I need resistgear for raids, spear and symbol for casters and my ordinary "best-wis-gear-I-can-get" set....I need some bigger bags...

I carry at least 2 sets of gear along with a bag of potions.  That way I can max any resist that I need to survive raid mob AOEs

I carry two full sets of backup gear for new attempts on hard mobs, plus as much high resist jewelry as I can find, for whatever situation I might find myself in.  I also make sure to carry at least a few of all the resist potions at all times.

I'm seriously leaning toward our sta and wis lines for achievements.

I picked up the sta line already, and the knockdown stun totally rules for soloing and grouping, I love it so far.  I only have it at app 2 so far, but it only seems to get resisted on orange (and epic, but it still magic debuffs them) mobs, which imo is reasonable.

So many new choices, but traveling on business so no time for pwnage till next weekend SMILEY

Hehe normal grouping your gear doesnt really matter much is what ive come to, i usually just group in whatever im wearing and normally thats my duel gear :smileyvery-happy: That being said i carry 3-4 sets of armor and 2-3 sets of jewelery (i like having defferent looking armor, not to mention the 10ish weapons i carry for looks, gotta love it) so i never get nude in instances and anways have some resist gear that fits the situation im in. In raiding comming well prepared is a good part of being successfull.

And yes theres a heritage for a 32 slot bag with 100% weight reduction, "the wonderous inventions of a gnome" or something like that, starts at the crashsite in realm of night.
