I have been reading some posts lately that have confused me a bit.  Should I equip items with INT or WIS?  I have been equipping all wisdom items up until now, has something changes?

Banditman is correct... Wisdom.

Nothing has changed Wisdom = power

Wisdom is much more important than Intellegence. Intellegence does play a role in bonus damage on your spells though, which is important if you are a soloer and not a grouper/raider. I would say for a soloing mystic (or priest for that matter), in order of importance it would be: 1) Wisdom 2) Wisdom 3) Intellegence 4) Agility / Stamina 5) Strength for a grouper 1) Wisdom 2) Wisdom 3) Wisdom 4) Wisdom 5) Stamina 6) Agility / Intellegence 7) Strength Having a good intellegence can be helpful, but you should NEVER sacrifice wisdom for intellegence.

I'm no Mystic, but I am a priest. I have to disagree that wisdom is the most important end all stat. I started sacrificing wisdom for intelligence when the expansion came out, and I'm pretty pleased. My power pool is not a problem, fights never last long enough for it to deplete, and it regens quite quickly when the fights are over.

I think damage should be just as important to a priest as it is to a fighter, where a fighter's role would be to mitigate, a priests is to heal, but there should be a use for a second fighter or second priest in a group.

Now take this in context. I am a druid. My buffs are good INT and some wis. So I get the inherent bonuses there over a Mystic who buffs melee stats and hp. But I don't think power supply is as important in this game as it should be, but damage definitely is.

I forgot to add. When yur 50+, theres a buttload of new stuff with good INT and WIS on it, so you don't really sacrifice either. Also, get yourself imbued rings, and int/wis potions! I'm sittin' pretty at level 55 with 278INT and 250WIS

Wisdom is most important for Power pool. However, whenever I solo I try to enhance both stats by variety of methods: Food: There are several food items now that have both wis and int food items (very expensive at times). Such as trail mixes. There are several food's that just raise Wis alone, such as the browncap mushroom dishes. Imbued Armor: There are more than several imbued items that have extra wis, and also can cast 15min buffs for extra wis. Postions: Elixirs grant 30min buffs. The two I use are either Contemplation or Mastermind. They raise both wis and int. Obviously this requires some amount of monies, but it's worth it at times.   Intelligence increases the punch of your HO's and DD's.

If you aren't pressing the limits of your power pool you are doing something wrong. Mystics don't buff any mind stats at all, and cannot afford to blow slots on INT over WIS.  Im currently sitting at 259 self buffed (ring) WIS.  I'm in largely Fabled gear, most slots carrying +12 or greater to WIS. Wisdom Wisdom Wisdom Wisdom The difference between INT of 92 and INT of 197 is about 10% damage.  Big [Removed for Content] deal.

Who said anything about blowing the slots for 'Int' instead of 'Wis'?  As much as I would like to have all slot's filled with everything WIS and have fabled gear (which I probably never will), I get what I can from what's available.  As mostly a casual player I don't have a lot of monies, and so I can't afford everything out there.  I'm not losing out on anything if I can get both Wis and Int buffed at the same time, so yeah, 10% or even extra 1% to my hits can make a difference for me.

You need to be questing in DoF then.  Particularly, do the quests from Attiyya the Embalmer in SS.  Do the entire Peacock Club line starting with A Damsel in Distress. There are omg so many GOOD items (+12 to WIS!) in those it's just silly. Go farm the harpies in PoF until you pop the named.  Awesome Forearms! There is no reason that ANYONE should be concerned about not being able to aquire HUGE amounts of Wisdom.  It's EASY to get there.  Not having access to Fabled gear is no reason to give up on having huge amounts of Wisdom! My Fabled Gear: Hat:  18 Wis (ok, yea, that one kicks (*# and takes names) Gloves:  14 Wis (Master chest in Icespire or Menagerie single group instance - very casual friendly!) Pants:  zero Wis (but they look great!  There are +Wis pants in the Peacock Club line that are a tempting item for me) Ring:  12 Wis (dropped from Tremblar, but replaceable with a ring from Peacock Club line) Ring:  10 Wis (dropped from Niscanith, replaceable with a Pearl crafted) Belt:  12 Wis (dropped in Obelisk of Lost Souls off a named - very casual friendly!) Secondary:  16 Wis (dropped from Arch Lich Udalan, replaceable with a secondary in the Peacock Club line)

Wisdom is still the most important stat to Priests, period. I doubt anyone of sound mind would argue this fact. If you never deplete your power pool in group settings, you are either a little too conservative with what you cast, or you have lots of fabled gear, GEB's, invoker robe and the like. Also, if B = true then you might also be C:  a raider. Any priest doing challenging raid content needs lots of power, both total and regen. Wearing my Hardened Metallic bp + wis ring buff + one t5 wis doll I have around 290 wisdom. I easily exceed the soft cap of 350 in a group setting if other priests, casters or a monk are present. As for where other stats including intelligence fall in order of importance, it is largely discretionary. If you feel like acquireing some INT gear to boost your soloing prowess, or for use when a second priest is present in a group, go for it. If you want to raise your strength for extra melee damage, or your sta to take more hits when (not if :smileytongue:) you get aggro, that's fine too. Hell resists are more important than ever now...if there are any stats that deserve consideration after wisdom (which also boosts your resists as a whole, though the benefit is small) it's your resists.

Actually I have been questing as much as I can in DoF. I'm almost finished with all of the embalmer quest's, I'm on the last one right now. I'll be starting those other quests soon also. As I'm still 46, I can't wear a lot of it, but's it's all sitting nice and pretty in the bank right now. :smileyvery-happy: I have T4 doll, that I need to upgrade also, but the secondary you listed above looks nice. The only thing that's bothered me so far has been the beetle herding quest -- even though the items available are already crappy -- it would have been nice to include some priests items in there as well.  Thanks for the gear info.

Even the ones that are not of sound mind will argue for Wis. Such as myself. The only thing i will not do for wis is wear a lower class of armor... like leather/cloth unless it is GODLY. I also will not use a secondary other than a shield but that may be because im a dwarf and look really silly carrying a book or doll...

I would even have to disagree with that.  Did you know that leather slightly increases avoidance?  The tradeoff isn't actually so bad.  Its still a slight defensive decrease, but not that bad...especially compared to the amount of wisdom you can often gain. At level 45, I still break out my Leatherfoot Deputy Breastplate(grey) at times, just because the +11 wisdom eclipses the +0 I have found on all T5 medium armor.

The amount of power gained by switching to a greyed out leather piece is not worth it in my eyes especially on a BP when you can have a imbued heal proc plus the mitigation. BP is also the only slot that is really rare to have wisdom on it post 50. I have also kept my imbued legs and made an ironwood shield for soloing even tho they removed the wisdom from it... the feedback is just nice to add to our dps. (when soloing) I seem to also have much more "Swapout gear" than i ever did before.

Maybe it is just the dwarf in me that needs to wear metal armor... the shammy in me that makes me use a spear. But then again i must be the only one on the server that doesn't use boxes in my main inventory for extra space. For some reason on my alt i feel different (dirge with augmented bp/legs).

Oh, believe me, I have some "real" armor for when I am soloing, but when I am in a group I'm hopefully not going to be needing mitigation or armor procs. :smileywink:

One nice option, if you're on Truth faction, is the chain chest piece they offer for sale in the Court if you're ally. It's called Chestguard of the Preceptor...AC 203, Wis +8, Health +30, Power +48, SVMagic +400 It's not too bad if you can stand the red chain. They also offer Pants of the Preceptor...these are leather...AC 149, Wis +10, Health +29, Power +45, SVFire +400 I have to admit that even my wisdom-crazy self passed on these pants.  Let's just say the tight, bright red leather on my lil gnome wasn't exactly aesthetically pleasing.  There are just some things even I won't do for more wisdom...

Hopefully with the color tuning down they just did it won't be so bad.  Thanks for the info! I know which faction I'm joining now, heh.

I am aware that we are talking about optimization here, but I personally think the avoidance vs mitigation is sort of a moot point. Even with a very good buckler (which are really quite laughable as defensive items) and all fabled gear of leather or chain, you will still be much, much weaker than scouts. Since we dont have any parry, we have to rely on high agi to avoid, which is sort of silly because I wouldn't even think about sacrificing wis for agi. And since a lot of the new +agi chain is Scout only, its not like you have a choice. Plus, without parry, I doubt even 200 agi would significantly help you, though I have to admit I havn't looked at my stats while significantly agi buffed since LU13, so, yeah. And in terms of mitigation, chain armor is quite a lot worse than plate, and only slightly better than leather, so it really doesn't matter what you do.

I personally have a giant health and power pool, and only like 15% avoidance and 20% mitigation without any buffs. I've got almost 50% mitigation with buffs, but in the end it doesnt really matter, if I don't ward myself even a solo mob could take me down eventually (Granted that I dont try to kill it first).

As a priest, you get sort of mislead into thinking you actually have defensive capability by having armor, but the reality is that fighters and scouts get defensive buffs through thier class, so in the end you don't really come close. After the removal of parry it's even worse.

Obviously we're better off than mages, but it's not hard to be better off than them, considering how fast they die.

Today's test board:

- Level 50+ crafted armor now has improved mitigation, stat bonuses, and resists. This applies to both Handcrafted and Legendary varieties.

- Level 50+ crafted non-imbued shields have been improved.

This looks like some decent solo gear will be coming out.....although it kind scruz the lower level characters.

A little off-topic, but for Paisan, I think I heard they are going to nerf that ability to run around carrying strong-boxes instead of backpacks, so it is just as well that you never got USED to carrying them in the first place. I think they are going to make the boxes so darn heavy that the strongest ogre-guardian is going to have to think twice before picking a strong-box over a bag.

Someone more bookish than myself will have to scurry to the update notes to dig out the specifics. So I suppose you can treat my statement as Hearsay. *shrug*

Personally, I stuck with back-packs, so it won't affect me, but a couple tanks in my guild are going to log-in one day and find themselves burdened. :smileyvery-happy:

Nerfing boxes eh? Well it was only a matter of time I suppose. I myself carry around two at all times, and frankly since DoF came out I need every inventory slot I can get. Bag space thus far has been lackluster....I hope they find a way to implement larger bags in the future.

Only 2?  I carry 4 and that's BARELY enough room to carry all my resist gear and still have room for actual loot and stuff. I'm fine if they want to make boxes heavier, but they have to do something to make bags a more viable source of carry space, because right now they are NOT.

Just curious if anyone here is wearing cobalt armor.  I harvested up two clusters while woring on Ashen Order quests this weekend, and realized that easily attainable dropped/quested armor is more mystic-friendly - entropic vine covered leggings, that soul drained armor from SC and the like.  All with oodles of wis on it, and I think about 30 mit lower than current cobalt stats.

I'm actually upset that cobalt isn't better, since eventually it will be fixed to have a new graphic =p  Anyone else find themselves in this dilemma?

I think the Cobalt Gloves will have 14 wisdom on them, but for wristguards there are 2 really nice +12 and +14 wis drops in DoF that seem to pop up pretty often. The helm and shoulders are both pretty high wisdom too; if you don't have fabled in those slots they'll definitely be better (at least that's how it's looking).

Yep, just two. I like being able to move when I die before having to cast a str buff. It's a half elf thing.
