a few questions...

way back when, i had a coercer in the early 20s. i really liked her, but after the big combat revamp i didn't enjoy her as much and deleted her. now i have decided to try an illusionist. she's only lvl 12 but so far it's alot like being a conjurer (i have a low lvl conjurer as well) only more active and fun. keeping in mind that i mostly solo or duo and will probably never have an interest in raiding with her.... i wondered if you all might answer a few questions for me?

is an illusionists still alot like being a conjurer at higher levels?

how soloable is an illusionist? not having any trouble at all right now, but does this change later?

i searched for adepts on the broker in both qeynos and freeport and found that adept skills were just outrageously expensive. i found one adept that was 1g50s and all the rest listed were 6g+ and they were all lvl 5-10 skills. the one personae twin adept i found was listed for 1pp and some gold. is this usual?

also any comments or reccomendations / warnings about this class would be appriciated :smileyhappy: thanks in advance!

An illusionist is one of the classes that's easiest to solo with. With mez and average gear, you can take on heroic groups. With good gear/spells, you can take them on without mez.

Your pet pales in comparison to a conjurer pet. He doesn't taunt and if you nuke slow enough for him to keep agro, you will get exp pretty slow.

Lots of people roll alts, and low level spells are frequently very overpriced. If you don't mind tradeskilling, level a sage up with your illusionist. On the Nek server, I have yet to pay more than about 10 plat for any spell. I have all of my masters. That is very cheap for the high end game. Only coercers on my server have cheaper spells really. Make/find a sage to make you apprentice 4 spells. Don't waste your time on anything above that quality at your level. In another 5 hours of exp hunting and questing you'll outgrow those spells anyway.
