farm adept books and treasured gear and sell it all on the broker for rich transmuters to use for lvling up.

transmuting is a secondary tradeskill that destroys items and turns them into adornments that you can use on your own items, in a nutshell.

They need treasured or higher items to destroy to make the components needed for transmuting, so the market for adept1 books and treasured gear skyrockets at lower levels because they dont want to farm  lower level mobs to get it.

Tinkering is the more useful of the secondary tradeskills if you play your wizard as your main. This is because the use of the vast majority of tinkered items is restricted, and requires you to be a tinkerer of the appropriate skill level to use them. Some of the items you make and use include feign deaths, resurrects, charms, manastones, lifestones, etc.Transmuting can be done on an alt if you wish to do it as well. All of the products a transmuter makes are tradeable. You just won't be able to transmute any no-trade stuff that your main picks up.As far as making some money is concerned, as Illu said, currently the market for transmutable items is pretty good - so sell any treasured and above adepts and gear on the broker. Wizards are strong soloers, so don't be afraid to kill green con or higher nameds for their loot / masters. As you approach level 50 and above, CT might be a good place for this. I forget the level range of RE, but that is a dungeon I have seen people using at earlier levels.Another thing you could try doing is harvesting various nodes for raws and rares. While I never did this (seemed rather tedious), there will always be some need for raws and rares. The returns on harvesting probably won't be that great, but there are always people like me, who would rather pay than go harvest for myself. Tradeskilling can make people decent coin too - if you have the patience for it. I generally overlooked this area as somewhat boring, but decided to give it a shot when EoF and secondary tradeskills were introduced. Being the first T7 transmuter on my server made me a decent amount, but the margins nowadays are a lot slimmer. So choose tradeskilling if you want slow and steady i guess SMILEY
