Ok so im in Feerrott killing lizardmen waiting for my timer to run out so i can go back into the World Quest. Then pop lvl 47 assassin, ok im a lvl 41 wiz and just finished a battle so im like ok root , resisted, [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] , bam bam , i didnt even get a chance to run , i would have been better off not wearing any armor(sry just needed a quick vent) . Now I am wondering if the devs even bother to test with non tank classes. I love playing my wiz and do a lot of soloing bc of the times i play but this is just plain bs..

47 assassin in Feerrott ? when you are killing lizzards ? I don't see where it is, and I spent hours and hours harvesting in F. Now if your root fails, you still have a stun and a low root (frozen manacle) and tether. And the price of being a high damager in solo encouters is your vulnerability in closed fights.

It can happen anywhere. I think the level of the assassin equals the level of the zone. I was waiting in CL for my buddy to join me (we grouped after I finished "Wheel" quest) and I see he is attacked by an assassin. Didn't think anything about it. He finishes first part and we both go back to town. I leave town to look for the second part of Disturbance and Bam as soon as I leave Ant dock I get hit by a very tuff assassin conning yellow. I die. I buff up and get my shard and dont see him so I set off for BB. On the way another attacks but I am buffed and ready. He dies. Nothing for quest in BB so I head to TS. Another pops probably 4 levels above me. I evac just short of death. The big problem I have is being a Wiz my health is in the yellow before I react to being attacked. Hopefully I can get to Zek and the update will stop the assassins. Smog

What assassin is this?  Is it for a quest of some kind or just a random mob?  Sorry, I'm lost.

It is for the "Live Event" quest, Disturbance. It is a roekillik assassin.

My concern is if I don't progress to the point where they stop attacking, I am gonna be dead alot this weekend.

I know this may not help, but I have taken to either not venturing out without a few guildies and just crafting and doing quests in grey zones when I can't find any one, or even just xping in Harclaves for a while. If I absolutely have to go somewhere where I know I can be attacked, I put on all my buffs, check that my evac is up, and get ready to throw every root and stun I have an anything that runs at me threateningly. Yes, even my pre-20 roots. Anything to keep it off me while I either evac or nuke it.

It would certainly not hurt to use whatever stifle you have available to you, and never forget dispel. If they are stifled, thier physical attacks hurt almost surprisingly less. (eg: I got hit the first time for 300, but for the duration of the spell, I was getting hit about 25% of the time, and those hits were less than 50 damage each. It gave me time to back up, reroot, and nuke the hell out of it while my roots recycled. As soon as my stifle timer was up, I immediately recast it.)

Thanx Misseh, that is what I had to do. Full buff before zoning, keep all buffs up and running, and try in stay in non agro areas so I can kite a little if they jump me. I am on the last part and the attacks are fewer and farther apart. Smog

I was doing the same quests but have never got jumped.   Do they just attack certain levels of individuals or are they just hiding behind trees afraid of little old me?

I already met some of these new assasins. They never jumped me,  nor are aggro. I don't udnerstand why they are attacking some people and not others ! BTW, I already started the quest, I'm just at the group event in PF.

The assassins stopped attacking me after i finished the first live event quest, and was set to PF to investigate Icy Digs.
