How does one tell if a GameStop is participatingor not?

Is it enough that they sell the cards or do they have to have signed up for the promotion somehow?

Dear SoE:

Don't waste your time e-mailing me trying to get me to buy things.  It is amazing how far this game has turned south from a content and professional standpoint in the last two years, and sending me e-mails wanting me to buy extra Station Cash or having "special" sales is sophomoric at best. 

How about e-mailing me a reason to log in and PLAY THE GAME?  I didn't get an e-mail about the double XP, what happened there?  What's that?  Double XP doesn't get you any extra money in your pocket?  Of course!

I hate being negative about EQ2, but the fact is this game is like a baby that needs it's diaper changed but no one cares to do it.

I figured it would be triple sc, xp, guild xp, loot bannanas and anything else under the sun to get the playerbase to forget the newest screw up, but this time it's a tad bigger and more permanent

Also: the SC card site linked from the news bulletin seems to imply you can only redeem 500, 1000, and 1500-point cards as well as $15 one-month subscription cards.  Is that accurate?

Alas, no.  They make different cards for Game Stop and Walmart (I looked).

Someone asked if they charge tax on them:  depends on your locality.

I've been on a mission today to actually find a Gamestop that sells these cards. My local store's manager is ticked off that he wasn't informed of any promotion, stated he just restocked his card kiosk, and there is not a single, aka zero, SOE product card in it. So now, I've challenged five GameStop store managers, who've been very cooperative, to find me one of these cards. Honestly, if they can't sell the product in the time-frame of the promotion, they will understandably be angry as managers, and both SOE and GameStop should be, since they've lost out on a sale.

 As well not a single gamestop in this major city im in carries any of the soe game cards called several gamestops in50   mile radius and get same response nope dont carry them!

 What a joke for a sc promotion if cant even get the cards!

That's interseting, usually it's the Alaskan Game Stops near me that don't have them.  I went to a Game Stop last night and there was a shiny new stand-up selling game time cards of all types.  The back of the cards are set up to be activated on Game Stop's system, so any card you purchase there *should* work.

As for why SOE does promotions like this?  It's one of the ways they convince stores to carry their cards, with exclusive promotions.

 I wont bother buying any SC since cant get the double like others will, and as you say it to get retailer to carry lol it not working here.

Leaves me feeling cheated
