Is your chair sitting on the ceiling? Is your table big enough to camp underneath? Perhaps your chandelier is a pink cube? Let us know of any housing-related issues here!

As for where to find house items, here's a start:
  • the collector's edition obviously has some super cool items including modular Maldura themed blocks;
  • carpenters have 41 new recipes in their essentials/advanced books, plus a book of triangle building blocks to obtain;
  • sages have 3 new recipes for player-written books;
  • tinkerers also get one house item (a tinkered plushie);
  • two tradeskill collections reward you house items also;
  • faction merchants around Maldura will sell you house items also, including a pet merchant and a gardener;
  • there are three books of lore that can be obtained from book page collections in Thalumbra, and a fourth you'll create yourself during the tradeskill questline;
  • take a peek at Shady Swashbucker, who now has a couple additional house item versions for the Bag of the Tinkerers and the Bag of Sewn Evil Eye. You might also want to check your existing Fishbone Earring and Dwarven Ringmail Tunic;
  • There are 6 plunderable pieces of furniture themed for the heroic zones they come from: three aberrant themed statues, two Maldura chandeliers, and one kobold light source;
  • Two of the regular overland collections in Thalumbra also reward house items.

I'm on Beta and wanted to let the powers know that when I zone into the new home: Dhalgar Precipice of the Deep. The Mountain that it is built on/in is completely black. It might just be a missing texture file for me but thought I would share the info for beta testing reasons in case it is not.

I'd like to ask that you consider having plundered house items available in advanced solo versions. Pretty please with sugar on top? BigGrin

I've had no problems finding plundered items on the broker in past expansions, and the price goes down after a few weeks. Or ask in channels if someone will get you whatever it is. Sometimes it may also be possible to sneak into heroic zones dodging aggro to get just the house item.

That'll be a question for Kander, my understanding is they're a reward for the heroic instances, so not a tradeskill decision anyway Smile

That sounds like a feature, not a bug.

Not an issue with the items, themselves, but with the vendor for them.

Gemna Wilfreson sells two of every one of her critters. One for a single coin, one for 10 coins. At a glance, at least, they appear to be the same exact items.

She and Redthel will accept either the tradeskill or the adventuring currency, so you can choose which you'd rather pay in. Since you can earn rather a lot more of the adventuring currency per week than the tradeskill currency, it takes more of those coins.

Just a small thing, so far; Fancy Purple Coin Pouch is the name on recipe book and on the crafting table. When crafted, mouse over in inventory, display on Broker and right click for description upon placement in house shows Fancy Purple Carry Pouch.

Continuing to craft many things! I really love these items! BigGrin

Fancy Purple Loot Sack only shows as purple when you're very close to it. Back up a couple steps and it is brown, back up a couple more steps and it is invisible.

Fancy Orange Backpack disappears from view when you back partway across the room. Black Velvet Loot Sack does the same. (The Banded Leather Drink Pouch, Black Velvet Gem Pouch, and Fancy Purple Carry Pouch display fine even when you're on the other side of the room.)

Correction. The Black Velvet Loot Sack does the same thing as the Fancy Purple Loot Sack ... colored close up, back up just right and it is brown, back up more and it is gone. Likewise the Rough Leather Loot Sack and the Sewn Leather Loot Sack.

All backpacks disappear from view when I move halfway across the room ... the smaller pouches and stuff stay visible.

If you want me to compile all of this into one bigger post once I finish crafting and placing so it is more comprehensible, let me know, Domino.

[Feedback] The mastercrafted Penumbra Door is lovely, but it is a bit on the small side unless you're one of us short folks. It enlarges nicely large, and it shrinks small enough that only a housepet is going to fit through ... or maybe a fae/arasai, but the default may be found lacking by some folks. BigGrin

Found another: While crafting Embossed Maldura Stool, it is Embossed Maldura Stool in recipe book and on crafting table. When in inventory and on Broker and in situ reads Embossed Maldura Table. When crafting Table and Stool the pop up notification will cancel out as if you made 2 tables. However;! the icon is correct across the board and it is a stool.

Cheers! BigGrin
(just a side for Niami, I am not having any of those issues at all with the backbacks, (can't make a fancy purple loot sack, yet) however; I may be placing them in a different home? I've placed them in the basic house in FFS)

UPDATE!! finally found a root to make a Fancy Purple Loot Sack! Can confirm the issue noted above, by Niami. When placed this sack does change to a brown when backing away and caused the backpacks on the same level
to disappear. Those I placed above on a higher tier were unaffected. Seems proximity perhaps? Is it supposed to do a shiny glow or some other effect? It sits the same as the other purple, but opened showing gold coinage inside, I think, but nothing else special I'd imagine for a rare mat item.

Cheers

I'd gathered 2 Deepstone Roots and 3 Petrified Lumber since my last post. Went to make things with them (as I'm sure we know they have the same icon at this time).
I used the roots for MC bags then tried to make some of the Penumbra lighting with the lumber as it says in the recipes this is the main component. Though I have the mats, they do not show when on Woodworking table in Maldura or the elaborate one in my home. So, not craftable for me. Thanks and Cheers! Smile

I'm using a T3 guildhall and one of the side rooms, so it isn't a huge room, but it is bigger than the tiny inn room. I figured it was a happy medium in room size for testing such things. If you want to see the effect, head over to Ant docks, and visit the T3 guildhall Rolling Pin Brigade. Take the port pad to the Crafted Items room. BigGrin

Tyshgwyn's Stoneplate Barbute does not sit on it's bottom, it sinks about 1/3.

So, I've finally made everything and was able to purchase all the house item goodies today. Everything else seems perfect and wonderful sitting in a small home! Time to work on the adventuring side. Just wanted to say it was quite fun! I think my favorite piece is The Ancient Glowflower. Thank you very much for all the work and time you put into this, Domino. It is really a delight Smile

Cheers!

The Legendary Bag of the Tinkerers is named The Legendary Bag of Sewn Evil Eye on the Shady Swashbuckler.

I like the new appearances for the Dwarven Ringmail Tunic and Fishbone Earring... but people might already be using these in houses for their old appearance. The Zlandicar item has an option to convert to all four, so could there be two house item versions of the tunic and earring, one with the old appearance and one with the new, with an option to convert it to the other or to the equippable version?

Glad to see we're finally getting house item versions of the heritage quest bags. But the old version of Bag of Sewn Evil Eye is nice, too, and there's nothing else with that look. Could it be renamed and added as a recipe along with the new bags, since the texture already exists?

No. That's not the bag of sewn evil eye, it never has been. And that appearance is available elsewhere, you just may not have found it yet.

I'm sure that with the help of the beta buffer you can scrape together 5s to buy a newbie house if you wish to test house items. Roll Eyes

It was requested by players to revert this to the original appearance that matches what is seen in the quest; the big treasure chest can also be obtained from the "Treasure Hoard" veteran's reward if that's an appearance that a decorator prefers. If more people prefer the bigger chest the change can be reverted, but giving the option of both is not something we intend to do.
