reinstall of regular client after installing beta?

I have eq2 installed in the default directory that the launcher selected, and I went and downloaded the beta, full install. After going in and creating a temp toon for beta, I logged out with the intent of logging into the us english servers to /beta copy my toons over. However, when I changed to us english, it started installing the game again. Why? The game had patched before I changed to beta, and it appears to be sending the files to the original location (open game directory shows me the directory the files were originally installed), so it makes no sense to me. I'm currently waiting for the reinstall, since I've tried bypassing the launcher and the .exe file just brings up the launcher to start the reinstall from the beginning AGAIN. Not sure what to do, except let it complete, but what if this happens again when going from us to beta, or back to us from beta?
