I ran through ultimately betraying Qeynos last week to test it out on live (only the second time I've betrayed EVER, so this is pretty much like a new experience again as it's been so long, last time was 2007 or 2008). Later this week or sometime next week I'll do the same from Freeport and post bugs/issues with that; first I want to knock out a bunch of quests before I take my char back.

This was done on a brand new char. I started the process at level 19, got level 20 in Exile, and went from 21-22 while working up faction to join Freeport. At all AA for a while now, so most comments are relevant to the same level range!

KELETHIN -> QEYNOSQuest: Moving to QeynosThe dialogue when you pick up the quest tells you to go to Qeynos Harbor. This is now incorrect; you need to go to the South Qeynos area of the Qeynos Capitol District. (typo reported)Quest Reward: Her PeopleI got the Call to Home ability twice on my hotbar when I completed this quest. Could've just been a fluke, but seemed odd. It's only in my ability book once, so more cosmetic than anything.QEYNOS -> EXILEWhen speaking to the Ambassador about changing citizenship to elsewhere, he tells you that all of your spells skills will be "downgraded to 'apprentice' knowledge. This will happen even if you do not change profession." This has been mostly untrue since Game Update 58 (October 2010):

In Game Update 58, players will be able to retain the upgrades they have earned in their combat arts and spells to a certain extent. As per the patch notes: Spells above apprentice are now preserved after betraying in the following situations: -   Betraying to a different class: --       Shared spells will retain upgrades --       All new spells will start as apprentice -   Betraying back to original class: --       Shared spells will retain upgrades --       Any spells that were upgraded before betrayal will remain -   Betraying to the same class: --       No spell upgrades will be lost

Quest: Trade SecretsSprockfuddle did not have a quest feather after completing Dissatisfied With Qeynos but before picking up this one. Not sure if this is intentional. Vernon Tinworthy tells you to "work your way around the Harbor", yet only the first person you talk to is in Qeynos Harbor. Saying "around Qeynos" would be more accurate.Quest: The Concordium's DeliveryNo quest bauble for the Voice Modulator. (reported to Terrogaunt)Did not see a message pop-up stating it'd be safe for me to use the modulator.ROI for Augurer Phineas' modulator spot is wrong. At the ROI for Augurer Arnon I keep hearing the same conversation that Augurer Phineas had, which is not progressing the quest. (update: I had to trigger some dialogue by walking close to Arnon first before I could get this update; regardless, I should not have been continuously seeing Phineas' dialogue after completing that step)When listening to Augurer Vharlan, I heard ALL THREE conversations (Phineas, Arnon, Vharlan). If it matters, I did have to wait for nighttime to roll around again for this update.Ends up that all three final updates (Vharlan, Shorechaser and Caranthir) show EVERY previous dialogue that had occurred, intermixed with the new dialogue. It was difficult to weed out reading the correct ones to see what was going on. =The Voice Modulator was not removed at the end of this quest, nor by the end of betrayal. I still have it in Haven.----EXILE -> FREEPORTThe old village sabotage quests from Gol M'Tun: His dialogue choice to pick them is "Do you have some ideas within the villages?" These no longer take place inside the villages. I'd suggest changing it to "Do you have some ideas within the districts?" Also, Gol's dialogue after you pick this option needs updated as well, it also mentioned villages.I know you can get to Qeynos from Antonica by going from either Peat Bog (bell or underwater) to Vermin's Snye to the Down Below, or by taking the bell to The Caves (not safe < 36) and then the door to Down Below. Compared to Freeport, this is a pain in the rear. Could you add a direct zone-in grate on the grass somewhere between the NQ and SQ gates in Antonica, similar to how one was added near Freeport's west gate in Commonlands?Freeport Bounty: Nimbus CogspinnerThis quest tells you that the target is near Beaver Pond in Nektulos Forest. This should be Behemoth Pond. (Beaver Pond is in Antonica)Freeport Bounty: Clint GilcrushClint spawned as a non-attackable NPC. I had to hail him and wait about 10 seconds before he finally attacked.Antonica PQFarmers from the Antonica PQ are aggro to Exiles. That made traversing that area at level 20.. interesting. The PQ also made the Antonica sabotage quests highly annoying in general because it takes those gnolls quite a distance to leash.Quest: Learning Your Place in FreeportThere is no quest bauble for the Dog Whistle. (reported to Terrogaunt)The dog's suffix of "Playername's dog" has a period after the word dog, which looks silly.Where's my dog corpse plushie?! Or maybe a collar? Some memento from the bratty dog that was stubborn as @#%@%?Quest: Moving to Freeport - AcceptanceWhen speaking to your trainer you are warned mulitple times that your spells will be reset to apprentice. Not just Apprentice, but Apprentice I, which hasn't existed since... 2008, 2009-ish? This is NOT completely true, spells only go to Apprentice if you change classes and haven't been that class before (therefore never upgraded said spell). Honestly, just change those pop-up boxes to the GU58 patch notes (see above), that was a wonderful breakdown. Also, please make those boxes not time-out, it disappeared before I finished reading it and I had to pop it up again.Another warning box that my character would become inaccessible unless I have a "Gold or Platinum subscription" popped up. Platinum subs died with EQ2X, please update this. It'd also be nice if you'd check someone's subscription level and prehaps what class they already are (in my case, I went Illusionist -> Illusionist, no change) before annoying them with this box.Is it really necessary to completely wipe my hotbars when staying the same class? Glad I'm only level 22... *grumble*. (oh man, I just realized my AAs were reset too.... sigh... it's been years since I betrayed)Matthias should give you a tip on where to find your trainer. While I know Freeport quite well, not everyone does, especially post-revamp.Why do we get a new version of Call to Home every time we change cities and/or factions? I thought consolidating it to one name was supposed to make it easier, not more annoying to re-hunt the ability out on my hotbars.

It took me longer than "about a week", got distracted running evil quests. Here's the other half of my feedback/bug reports. My character was level 22-25 for these quests, with AAs ranging from 50-75 by the time I was done.

FREEPORT TO NERIAK(Quest) Finding a SponsorAmbassador V'Nox did not have a quest feather indicating she had a quest to offer.Call to Home was yet again wiped and added to me. Is this really necessary... are there really 7 seperate abilities for this one still? If so, how about the name just get switched back to what it used to be (Call to Freeport, etc) because it's annoying to see the same ability be wiped and re-added every time you betray/move.NERIAK/GOROWYN TO FREEPORT(Quest) Moving to FreeportAmbassador Brutus had a feather instead of a book over his head when I went to turn in this quest.(Quest) Freeport City PatrolThe NPCs for the fight behind the port authority were already attackable mobs instead of non-aggro mobs before I hailed them. Was still able to get the update but they didn't attack me when I told them they should be removed. (they just respawned as non-attackable though so maybe someone tried and failed before I got there)(Quest) DR-90 Turn InObligatory Call to Home ability complaint.Somewhat related... the majority of the Neriak city quests cannot be received unless you're a Neriak citizen. I had picked up as many of these quests as I could and finished all but one before return to Freeport. Now I cannot turn-in the quest called "A Real Snake Oil" because Ssapnolu Do'Te'Ximtor won't talk to me due to being a Freeport citizen. (/bug reported this too)Just discovered I had one other Neriak quest to turn in, "Monster Creation Made Easy". Durrysn's responses make it sound like I'm a citizen of a good aligned city and he won't accept the completed quest. Why is Neriak so restrictive against FP/Goro citizens?FREEPORT TO GOROWYN(Quest) Moving to GorowynObligatory Call to Home ability complaint.FREEPORT TO EXILEThe Ambassador gives you partially outdated information when you are going through the dialogue that leads into the quest "Dissatisfied with Freeport". Here is my breakdown from the log:- (1348843235)[Fri Sep 28 10:40:35 2012] aNPC 110024 Ambassador Brutus:Ambassador Brutus/a says to you, "This is all hypothetical, of course, since none of us would ever want to leave Freeport!  But, hypothetically, I would caution you that such a change would require sacrifice.  If you changed your citizenship to that of a city that accepts those professions considered 'good,' then you would be required to re-confirm your profession when you arrive there.  "- (1348843236)[Fri Sep 28 10:40:36 2012] You say to Ambassador Brutus, "What does that mean, exactly?"-- (1348843236)[Fri Sep 28 10:40:36 2012] aNPC 110024 Ambassador Brutus:Ambassador Brutus/a says to you, "That means that, although you would not lose your adventure level rating, all your spells and skills would be reset to "apprentice" knowledge. This would happen even if you did not change your profession.   - NOT true. See GU58 changes: http://eq2.zam.com/wiki/Betrayal_an...ility_Retention-- In addition, until you completed your move, you would not have access to your shared bank,  - True.-- your house (including all but your first broker slot),  - NOT true, while your house may be difficult to access, all 6 broker slots have been available to Exiles ever since the change that gave everyone, regardless of house type, 6 vault slots.-- and you would not be welcome in many cities."  - True.(Quest) Listening in for Qeynos- Corporal Henk Rimebreaker does not have a quest feather to begin this quest after completing "Dissatisfied with Freeport".- No quest bauble for the Listenomitron. (reported to Terrogaunt)(Quest) Timing the Night Shift- No quest bauble for the Voice Modulator. (reported to Terrogaunt)- Commandant Placida has a typo in her dialogue; she says "Miltia" instead of "Militia"- The Voice Modulator was not removed from my inventory after completing this quest.(Quest) Destroy the Weapons CacheNo quest bauble for the Magical Explosive Device. (reported to Terrogaunt)

It would have been awesome if Lucan had personally sentenced me to death in Execution Plaza while being Exiled, but at the last minute someone intervened and ferreted me away to Haven. Just a thought. Obligatory complaint about Call to Home.EXILE TO QEYNOS(Quest) Sabotage: The Heist- The quest journal text indicates that I should look for the jewels "within the Freeport hoods".- The rest of the old "hood" sabotage quests were worded correctly.(Quest) Qeynos Bounty: NikVik DarkpawGil McMartin did not have a quest turn-in book icon above his head when I went to complete the quest.(Quest) Qeynos Bounty: Meeglash DarkpawSame as above.(Quest) All qeynos bounty questsNo quest book icons for turn-ins. It happened with all 16 of these quests.Invisibility inside Freeport: I walked past a level 29 ^^^ guard as a level 25. I was invis, it did not show that this guard saw invis. However, the moment I walked past, they attacked. This happened one other time to another char of mine walking past a 40s guard. If the guards are going to see invis, please don't make me think that they aren't.(Quest) Qeynos Bounty: Torvis NebariusFor the love of all that's good, read this out loud and tell me if it makes sense: "I need to kill Torvis Nebarius in the outer hallway of the building just outside of the exit to the City of Freeport." Now that we've established that it really doesn't make sense, how about trying this instead: "I need to kill Torvis Nebarius behind the guild hall near the Thieves' Way exit in North Freeport."(Quest) Qeynos Bounty: Yewon MartrcleQuest journal tip is nice, but it'd be nicer if the quest helper would at least include "in East Freeport".(Quest) Freeport to Qeynos - AcceptancePop-up box informed me that all of my spells would be reset to "Apprentice I", which hasn't existed for years, nor is it true. Also got a pop-up informing me that I was switching to a premium class, which may have mattered if (1) I wasn't already a Gold subscriber and (2) I wasn't staying the same exact class. Also, having my AAs reset when I don't switch classes is still annoying.
