Im fairly sure he wants to make stacks of the quest items the apprentices ask for in advance.

I make 80 at a time and not a single one in my bags! Put the bag / box with the pre-made items, into your house vault! each of my crafter makes 80 a pop, filling 2 boxes and tosses into thier house vault. It will automatically take what is needed each time you hail your apprentice, you don't even have to get it out of the house vault.
