Having played EQ2 quite a while ago I got interested when I saw that it had gone free to play, of course this is distress call of a ship slowing filling with water I thought it might be fun to ride out the last of it and reminisce of one of my old favourites

Turns out its basically subscription + item store, and as far as I can tell if you ever want a reasonable amount of gold (like enough to do anything) or have access to any of your gold you have to subscribe.  Yet there is still all the Item store rubbish.  But the thing that surpised me the most, people are actually playing! Really?

I dont understand why the Eve Online subscription model isn't more widely used.  Player A buys subscription and sells to player B for ingame currency.  F2P and P2P all in one.  No one gets an advantage over anyone else, no one has to pay real money.

Anyway thanks for a great game, everything in the original release was amazing!
