You might want to check the Clan McNaff set. the announcement says 800 SC but it's 1950 sc in game.

So sorry about that! There was an issue when it was pushed to the game. It should now be 800 SC as stated in the article, NOT 1,950. Please let me know if you have any issues. If you purchased the set for 1,950 please let us know!

I'm still seeing it priced at 1,950.  SMILEY

Thank you for the update! I'm trying to find out why this is still showing the incorrect price in game.

Thanks, Isulith!  I'll check back in the morning for the correct price (or an update here).  SMILEY

Why have the past 2 kilt sets looked completely different in the artilcle preview than they do in game?

And both look completely different on regular servers as they do on Freeport.

Are the kilt sets we've seen in the pictures in the previews ever actually coming?

There was an error with the color of the Kilt set in the screenshot. It has been updated with the correct color - awesome pink! SMILEY

The first time this came up, there was an issue with Shader 3.0. The second (today) was because we were given the wrong screenshot. The correct screenshot has been added for the one today. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Can you please explain in more detail what you mean about them looking different on regular servers versus on Freeport?

When has there not been an issue with the incomplete shader 3.0?

I turned it off since there are so many bugs with it. Going into my NH manor, my floors are transparent so I see down into icebergs and the ocean.

The name McNaff caught my eye.  I thought I'd share the commonly used British slang meaning of "Naff" with you which may, or may not be apt.

Taken from the Urban Dictionary naff describes something that is stupid, lame or unpalatable.

Wow...well that certainly is interesting. O_o Thanks for pointing that out. I had no idea that it meant that! I happen to think it's pretty awesome to have a pink kilt set and as such, think the name might be throwing off it's coolness. :O)

I can take screenshots and post them in a bit.

And the difference in the set last week (or was it the week before) didn't have anything to do with Shader 3.0 for me. I don't use it and it still looks how it did before and not like the screenshot it showed.

Well pardon me for breathing.  Just thought someone at SOE might google names before using them.  No problem with the kilt just the name - unless intended of course.

I pointed out in another thread where the name was brought up, the name McNaff was in Norrath from the start of Eq1 back in '99 or so. There was a woman in the warrior's guild whose name was Lisbeth McNaff. So I figure that's where they got the name. People use so many things in slang in so many different countries they'd have a pretty limited selection if they just went with things that didn't have any alternate meanings while still running the risk of someone making up an alternate meaning in the future. /shrug

Here's the screenies. I just found it quite odd that they looked different on the servers. It's like the FP version is missing the armor like overlays. And well, the kilt portion is only the same in color.

LOL I hope you didn't take what I said as being rude - I was just surprised. I think that sometimes we don't think to check what things mean in other areas of the world than where we're at, so when something like this comes up it's interesting to say the least. As someone pointed out, there is an NPC from days long ago. I do appreciate it being brought to our attention, though. We can keep a look out for these sorts of things in the future. SMILEY

Oh wow! You're right - these look totally different. Let me send these screen shots over to the dev team and see what's going on. I'll post again when I find out more. Thanks so much for posting these!

Correct.  When naming the kilts, where possible I have chosen barbarian clan names that we know actually exist in Norrath.  There is in fact a gravestone in EQ2's Everfrost bearing the name of "Lysbith McNaff" even now.

That said, being a British citizen (among other things) and having spent several happy years of my life there (including a degree at UEA), I am also well aware of the meaning of naff.  And I wouldn't say the Urban Dictionary is a good source for definitions - check the OED instead: "lacking taste or style". Closer to "tacky" in meaning.  It's admittedly not a coincidence I decided to match this name with the slightly more unusual colors of this set, but's certainly not meant to imply the set (or its wearers) are lacking in style. McNaff is a respected barbarian clan name with a long history in Norrath. SMILEY

Finora's issue is definitely a puzzle.  We've been looking into this and as far as we can tell, the difference is probably because you are using a different type patcher (possibly streaming vs nonstreaming, although it might be some other difference); one patcher is correctly pulling the up-to-date appearance (on the right), and the other seems to still be pulling the original version, which we changed as we weren't happy with the flowery chest and boots pattern.  (Flowers and plaid together! Now maybe that is a bit naff.)  This should be corrected with the update next week, not yet sure if it will be possible before that however.

As you know kilts are a new offering for us and there have been a number of technical issues to get them to work which caused some bugs such as this and tints needing to be changed.  We've been discussing how best to avoid this in the future and will be working to improve the process.  Thanks for the feedback which has helped us track down odd bugs such as this!
