How impossible would that be? I realize it could interrupt an easy Marketplace product line but, I believe that they could easily and happily coexist.

- Warhorse/barding to tune the look of a mount to a specific theme..

- Enchanted saddles/reins/crops/hitching posts to take advantage of reforging...

- Consuming Focus (essentially the temporary adorn mechanic I think, but not quite): possibilities might be the obvious +travel speed, or might be +certain resistances or even very specific case of + partial immunity (similar in some respects to a few of the special city talismans), among many other obvious and less obvious.  They should still be consumable, so you aren't dodging a limited use aspect inherant in the talisman permitting the mount and player to become significantly and permantantly overpowered.

It could require a player to actively apply the focus to a specific mount.  The focus tells the mount how to react.  This would be training or breeding the mount.  Then the second aspect of it would be the consumable portion.  This could be viewed as 'feeding' the mount.  The mount should work without feeding it -- it can fend for itself, but if whenever ya give/allow it feed/vitamins in the form of the consumable, it gets just a little better.  The 'feed' or 'vitamin' tells it by how much, and for how long, and should work like the potion/poisons where a player can tell it to 'Use' one, or 'Auto-Consume' until we run out or I otherwise specifically tell ya to stop.

I am inclined to want to 'adorn' or 'focus' to be mount specific, rather than apply to any active mount, for several reasons.  One, in cases where mounts aren't allowed, or specific types of mounts aren't allowed, I may want a different mount handling strategy.  Each mount would be 'bred' and 'trained' to do one thing better than normal; and while any mount could be 'retrained', each mount is trained seperately.  Any mount can use the same feed or vitamins though...

- Water based, and other special purpose, limited use mounts...conch shell of the siren summoner, tuba of the sea whale whisperer, etc; normally mounts run from water and for good reason, but a mount that thrived in water would be fun too; and if it was limited use/limited activation it might be enough of a counter balance to allow crafters to create them as 'consumables'

- Mount vitality; when resting or 'hitched' they build a pool that can be used to 'sprint.'

I bring these up here, because it seems like a natural thing that crafters might create (or have a significant role in creating).

How about saddle bags?  I'd love to have something like this for crafting or harvesting materials.  Put my unicorn to work, darnit!
