Finally, a set of armor for those who are tired of black, dark and evil-looking attire. Polish up this gold and white ensemble and show Norrath that you're not hiding any of the bloodstains from those who got in your way.

One day I'd like to see a helmet that isn't assembled from the tailend drippings of an ogre.  Every helmet in the game is positively hideous - this one redefines that word.

The rest of the suit looks nice, cept maybe the wow shoulders.

And, yet again.. [insert rant about how armorsmiths can't make this].

I'm curious from a lore perspective, what is Station Cash?  Go to the stable merchant and "purchase" a marketplace mount.. the NPC asks for.. what?  "Gimme some of that magic money that doesn't exist in this world"?

*shakes head and goes off to find coffee*

my main is a paladin, and checking this package, ew, it look way too techno, or distance past of superman's dead homeworld, Krypton.

they may used those crests in Kyrptonian's sword and spear era.

what i want for my paladin, "White Dragon" crested helm, or Silver or Golden dragon helms.

if anyone ever recall a movie, "Krull", those glass-like army in black, it almost look the same.

Sheesh.  For $12.50, nearly the cost of an entire month of game play, this below average armor could be yours.

BTW...that helm looks rediculous.  Why not a sugarloaf helm instead?

Edited to fix typos

I greatly look forward to these updates on the Marketplace, because you just don't get hate like SOE hate.  Some of the best comedy on the internet!

Its getting old seeing the same armor model repainted. I lost count trying to count how many armor sets have the same exact style as this one. /sigh

you guys have to remember a lot of these armor set the majority of eq2 players would never get the opportunity to wear because we dont all want to or like to raid. So im glad  some of us can at least get them through  "appearance"

I wish would could pick from a selection of custom color and hilights for these things though.. Im not a fan of white/golden look

Who says it has to be raid armor?  I don't see any reason why some of these items can't be crafted.  And the more ornate appearance items can drop from heroic mobs, or x2 content (oh wait, what's that?).  Or make it claimable as a vet reward for those of us that have been playing (and paying for) this game for the last 5-6 years.

The whole appearance system, while a good idea in theory, is just a band-aid to cover up half-[Removed for Content] item design.

Gifts from rich NPC relatives?  It's certainly not more absurd than wild animals dropping chests full of spells and armor.

Not trying to be mean, just realistic.

I don't raid extensively.  I've been on some pick up raids, but I'm not a hardcore player.

I think a good example of a way to introduce decent looking appearance armor to the game is the revamped Lavastorm questline.  Part of it involves factioning with the goblins which eventually allows you access to armor molds for some decent looking (in my opinion) armor, and some other "fluff" items.  It wasn't just dropped into my lap, and it shows that I've dedicated some time to gain access to those rewards.  It's this kind of content that I pay good money for.

I have a mix of T1 and T2 90 mage raid armor, it's the most hideously lame looking garbage ever. So I guess I don't get what you are talking about. I use my BG armor for appearance, because I can't stand the look of the regular armor. Soooooo, they've made raid armor look lame too just to sell more of this SC appearance crizzles. I would NEVER buy any of the SC stuff anyways, cuzz it just encourages them to keep doing it. TBH, anytime I see someone with the SC stuff I think a little bit less of them (unless it was obtained from the free SC handed out). I know I'm a hater, you are all welcome to spend your RL money any way you want to. I just can't help it if it disgusts me personally.

Which, of course, you know because those items are clearly tagged as "bought with free SC" as opposed to the non-free SC. Seriously, who cares what fluff people are wearing. What makes me think less of a player has nothing to do with what they look like, and everything about how they play. Healers that don't cure, bards who don't even attempt to DPS, tanks who can't be bothered to adorn any of their gear... that's worthy of scorn, not if someone is running around in an appearance set of armor.

Perhaps because some of the stuff is ONLY available through SC?  Which is a screw job to tradeskiller and guild leveling to be honest.  Used to be that you had to have a high level guild to get the "cool" mounts etc.  Which I might add, the guild I was in was max level and did not raid at all so it can be done.

The Dark Elf Heritage Armor and Kitty Mounts can only be purchased through SC, also the new evil looking armor set.  Whenever I see a kitty mount I think to myself, wow someone actually paid 25 bucks for that.  Can one be obtained in game through questing or leveling a guild?  Negative.... But with 25 bucks it's all yours.  Cheapens the item and experience for me me tbh.  Just my opinion, you are welcome to your own.  Oh I almost forgot about the storm cloud mount for a bargain at 25 bucks.  Sad.

You didn't comment on how ugly and bland most of the in game stuff looks now forcing people to spend real cash to try to make their characters look better.  No thanks....  I'll wear a burlap robe before I shell out $12.50.

To each your own, you can go ahead and buy it, and I can go ahead and puke in my mouth a little every time I see it.

yeah, it's nice that they spend programmer time and money on creating a new item for this thing every week, yet put in patches with broken mechanics and we still have bugs that have been around for ages.  How about giving us access to ALL of the items that the developers work on for our monthly subscription via questlines, hence the name "EverQUEST", imagine that, last time I knew, that's why we pay for it.   When's the last time we saw a cool mount or armor set available to us through questing?  I just wish they'd move all this stuff to RTM and give us access to it all through questing instead of trying to always milk more money out of us and be greedy.  A lot of long time subscribers are getting irritated with it and tired of paying for a game when we don't get access to all the benefits.

I am just getting annoyed that all the new good looking armor/mounts will only be available through station cash.

When they were rebuilding the sprire event there was a set of similar appearance armor that everyone who put the time in game could get.

The station cash cloaks are beautiful and all the new in game ones are atrocious. Not to mention that in the new expansion the raid gear per tier looks the same for every class.
