My bags are half unpacked, my cats are "speaking" to me again, I've had a couple nights of blessed sleeeeeeeeeep, Denmother's Trail Mix is long-gone, Facebook has way too many pictures of me that make me flinch (cameras and I hate each other with a bone-deep loathing) ...

That means it must be time for my inevitable brain dump from Fan Faire.

Yes, there is some crafting news, but not a huge ton of it, since Domino is pretty good about keeping crafters in the loop. So, instead of a tiny little crafting bit, you get my notes about anything and everything that caught my ear at Fan Faire.

Without further ado, I give you my Fan Faire 2009 Writeup at EQ2TC

Not sure if it is good news or bad... however it seems all of your practice avoiding Red MoBs while harvesting payed off... there is a reason I said couple red headed TS Mavens and not ALL of them. Though I didn't want to name names...until I posted it... thanks for doing it for me.

uh .. from Memory from the night of the Walking like an Egyptian dance .. the table fluxed a few times .. This was the night of the Free Open Bar ... I was perfectly happy watching Niami & Calthine making fo .. err .. having silly fun when they dragged me into the middle of the song and insisted I dance too. They are just lucky I was being extra careful .. I am a bull in a china shop for grace. Niami is so fragile, I didn't want to break her and have everyone mad at me!

Around the same time as the expansion, a new good starting area, Frostfang, will be released. (It seems that Halas was totally destroyed, and some are referring to this area as New Halas.) This area will be a free download (not tied to expansion purchase).

Frostfang sounds lame...I'd much rather have it as New Halas...

It is New Halas. There was a wonderful, um "Discussion" on the Lore panel about whether it was pronounced HAlas or HaLAS.

It is New Halas. There was a wonderful, um "Discussion" on the Lore panel about whether it was pronounced HAlas or HaLAS.

Accually your both right... The first image they showed durring they anouncment of Halas, was of a far away artists conseption of a bunch of Frosent Islands, that was labled "Frostfang". The Devs repeatedly stated that they are adding in NEW Halas... always stressing the NEW part.

My guess is that Frostfang is to New Halas, as DLW is to Neriak. Basically the starting area that comes with the city.

True enough. As far as I know.. the green wrist bands were only required at the EQ Birthday Bash. And, I believe they were only functional if one were visiting the bars during the event. SMILEY

heh *tongue in cheek*... uh ... I believe the Snow Bunny Mounts got pushed back to a later Expansion .. I think it's more likely to see the Rabid Squirrel Mount first .. though there was some tantanlizing discussions about a Gelantinous Cube Mount in several of the panels!

About New Halas...is it good like Qeynos (guards hate evils), evil like Freeport (guards hate goods), evil like DLW (easier for goods to dodge guards), neutral like Kelethin and Gorowyn (where the guards don't generally care).

I'm considering making an Illy, but am saving the toon for when New Halas is released, but knowing which race to consider first would be good.

Posts: 2,490	About New Halas...is it good like Qeynos (guards hate evils), evil like Freeport (guards hate goods), evil like DLW (easier for goods to dodge guards), neutral like Kelethin and Gorowyn (where the guards don't generally care). I'm considering making an Illy, but am saving the toon for when New Halas is released, but knowing which race to consider first would be good. I am hoping good like Neriak, where Evil can't get in until they totally grey out the guards. Remember New Halas is just the city, there will be a Newbe Yard outside it, that will likly be DLWish. __________________
