![]() I've just come back to EQ2 since leaving in December 2004, and then I didn't touch tradeskilling. However this time around I've totally gotten in to it, and I'm currently level 10 outfitting. But what I don't understand (and have tried to ask people for advice but have been unable to get it) is how do I increase the stats/level of the items I'm producing? For example an item is level 9 on the recipe, but when I make it, no matter what I make it comes out level 1 with 1+ str. Is it the materials I'm using? Or are there buttons to press to bring these up? I've tried reading the FAQs but I'm getting a bit confused! Thanks in advance, and sorry for being a numpty |

On attunable crafted stuff there are usualy 4 levels of quality, crude to pristine, which will have varying stats. You'll get the best stats by hitting Pristine, which is the 4th bar of quality on your creation window. (Here's a nice guide: Understanding the Arts) What you may be seeing if you're still working in Tier 1 (level 2-9) is that there is little to no variation in stats between levels of quality. This is because at that level there's just not room for much variation: Tier 1 stuff has very few stats to begin with. You'll see a wider variation at higher levels. Does that answer your question?

![]() There is no longer a reduction in the level at which an item can be equiped based on quality. All essential books, crafter skill level up to 9, produce items equipable at level 1. All essential books from 10 to 19 produce items equipable at level 10. The pattern continues through the tiers. Advanced books create items equipable at the n2 level: for example Advanced books for crafter levels 20 to 29 will make items equipable at level 22. Scholars are the exception as they make upgrades for the same level as their crafting level. |
