Why is there a recovery time when switching from one stance to another? Even if it is a short recovery time, it leaves us without any stance for a brief period of time. This can be very dangerous, especially since I am usually only switching to my defensive stance when things look bad to begin with.

Well if you look at it this way, RP wise it'd be difficult to immediately switch from one stance to another. Also, once get rid of the Offensive stance, your defensive skills go up slightly (as in, back to normal) as somewhat of a transitional period.

and it really isn't that dangerous...going from offensive stance to no stance will give you a bonus to defense..albeit a small one, then further when you go to defensive.

Personally i use no stance when i am "tanking" ... the hit to weapon skills in def stance seems to affect quite a bit.

anyway, don't expect to see this changed.
