I like the access quests for the DoV launch zones. Only 1 group member needs access, and I think the first zone in each string of "3" was unlocked auto anyway.
This isn't like a new thing, and it gives you something to do. I don't see the big fuss.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the second part of your post but the big fuss is that at least DoV allowed you to do SOMETHING, ALL new heroic zones in CoE are gated I have no problem with some zones being gated or even behind a heroic access quest. The problem I have is forcing people to do several hours of solo quests that are going to be insanely camped on launch just to do any new group content.
