Please tell me you're not using a pet that is not Expert or better. If you don't have the Planeswalker, then use your Aery Hunter, hopefully at least mastered, better yet grandmastered. The scout pets were fixed a while back so that they actually became the best DPS, before that we were using fire pets.
Also, I'm guessing you need gear and spell upgrades. Did you get the Tishan's Lockbox gear at least? Your need to have good enough armor on that you can take at least one hit if you're soloing... that's so if the pet loses aggro you can root it and run away, or use a deaggro.
If you do not have at least Expert for all your main profession spells, ask in Crafting channel and let's get a sage to update you. By this point, having been level 110 for a wholew expansion, you shouldn't be using Apprentuce or Journeyman spells. It's like using a peashooter instead of a bazooka.
Note that the handcrafted Scholar's gear is a bit better than Tishan's Lockbox, and the mastercrafted Academic's gera is much better. If youdon't have better luck once you are using a DPS pet and better spells, then ask in Crafting channel for a tailor to make you some MC armor.
