Fiery blast had been broken for a long time, For starters it only uses 45.5% of out going damage, it does not include double casts only the first hit counts and 45.5% of it. There are already a few ascension abilities that do not work with fiery blast I assume this is another. I'm afraid that this spell is starting to become obsolete like mana burn unless something is changed soon.
