What a lot of business people seem to forget, is that this is not an incredibly huge world anymore.First airplains made it a lot smaller, and now the internet made it smaller as well.
People across the world can play and talk together as if they are sitting right next to eachother, and they enjoy that freedom.
We can't help it if the legal department of a lot of countries is lagging behind, frantically trying to preserve borders that to a lot of people mean less and less
the whole point of the internet and MMOs is that you can communicate and play with people from all across the world regardless of timezone and the hours that you work. as it is now it doesn't matter what hours you work as you can join a community that operates when *you* have time to play.
you could work at odd hours or you could work all night and sleep most of the day it doesn't matter the hours that you work as you can find a group of people that are active in the game when you are regardless of which country they are in. the whole region locking goes against the fundamental principle of online games which is you can play with anyone from anywhere in the world.
The only barrier that still exists between people is language.
