The truancy debuff only hits people who are not trying to take advantage of the system.
No it doesn't. I leave groups sometimes if I happen to be stuck with a bunch of utter failboats. Since they're usually even worse off without me trying to heal them then it's probably a fitting punishment.
If anything needs to be fixed it's the lame voting system. The vote range needs to be zonewide and people moving around needs to NOT cancel the vote. I am sick of not being able to get rid of hackers or people that are semi-AFK.
Not sure where you got this info, but the vote range is zonewide and moving doesn't count towards activity.
Was the range changed recently then? For weeks when I would right click a players name in the group window the option to vote them would be greyed out and the tooltip would say "too far away". I had to be practically standing on top of them for the option to be clickable. As far as movement canceling a vote, it seemed to me like the only time the group was successful at booting someone is if they stayed perfectly still long enough for a few people to get close to apply a vote.
Either way it's still unacceptable that we can't even kick a player who is using a speed hack.
