I have long equated PVP with profanity, insulting language, discriminatory conduct, childishness, greed, and impatience. But I thought surely the EQ2 community would do better.
Nope. Same hate-filled tirades of "noob" and "he must be foreign" and "effing terrible..." Yup. First time in Battlegrounds. Don't know the lay of the land. Don't know the strategies. And now probably not going to have a chance to learn, because apparently I'm the last human on earth who actually wants to relax and have fun playing a game instead of making myself feel important by belittling others. I'd love to get better and participate more completely... but not at the cost of my evening.
Very sad, some of the people in there. Very sad indeed.
Normally when people say stuff like that, you are doing something wrong, just like some friends would tell you that the Mullet you have looks dumb, others won't, don't be mad at them for trying to push you and being honest
There's two steps to helping someone get better with something. The first is telling them that they are doing something wrong, yes, but the second is following it with tangible advice to help them grow into the role.
The second hasn't happened very often from people who are just resorting to insults to try to make them change. It doesn't work.
Folks should try being supportive of each other and helping others learned. Surprisingly, i've actually -seen- this in battlegrounds from time to time. You're always going to have people who have their nose shoved so far up their posterior, however, that they're touching tonsils. So just be patient with those who are being childish
. There's lots of nice folks too.
