What is probably a good idea is to start a new account.

I know you would be losing any characters you already have, but, the game has changed in such a huge way since the cap was 50, that it would probably be a good idea to start afresh anyway and the speed with which you level has been altered so much that you would very soon be back at 50.

I don't know about that. It didn't take me very long at all to relearn how to play my 52 Paladin and 62 Conjuror after 3 years away from the game. Of course, I DID create a couple of new characters in the empty slots on my account, and level those to around 20 before I went back to my old mains, so that probably helped.

The major thing that has changed is the AAs, really. (Aside from the level cap increase, of course.) I had actually quit just after KoS came out, so my Conjuror had 3 AAs and my Paladin had 1. Catching up on those is taking a little time, but I'm mostly doing that by mentoring and rerunning lower-level zones. (Or by being mentored so level 80's can do their AAs.)

Of course, no one could ever have convinced me to drop my old characters... I've got too much time and gear, and too many Adept III's and Master I's on them to be kicking them to the curb. And besides, they're fun SMILEY
