I build my own groups. My friendlist is huge. After I add someone to my friendlist I immediately go to the notes and start with their class and then what they are, followed by whether or not they are myth'd and then finally their guild. So a dirge would look "bard - dirge myth RL" a swash "scout - swash TC" a lock "mage - lock myth SoR" and etc.
I'm healer so I decide what groups I want to heal. I personally find it easiest to heal with 1 dirge, 1 illy, 2 melee dps, a tank (prefer sk), and myself in melee gear {heal gear for SOME named}. With this group build I never have to heal. I can usually wait until the end of an encounter to heal at all, at which case I put on my heal set of gear (macrod) and throw up 1 group heal and get some of my energy replenished (from epic), then immediately switch to melee gear again. I can solo heal all zones execpt necrotic, guk, palace, nuroga in this fashion.
I have full tier 1 shard melee gear with shoulders and hands being tier 2 melee gear. I have charm, necklace, earring, and wrist being second tier melee shard. I use the Thex mallet. Unbuffed I have over 900 STR. My heal crit is only 23% in this gear with hardly no heal amt. With this group build I do constant 2k-2.5k dps. My highest parse was a little over 4.5k on Arcanus in Scion (I don't have infusion yet. I need to repec and rebuild my "group gear" for spell crit since my group gear has well over 110% melee crit and DA when I am grouped with my dirge and illy, so I hope that it gets highest with infusion). Heal gear is a mix of shard / rok gear. Heal crit is 65% heal amt is 560. I don't really have the chance to raid since it relies on being consistent in showing up on some nights, my work scheldue is hectic, etc. Since I don't raid I have no real reason to work on my heal gear since what I have is more than enough to get me by.
Tanks NEED shard gear if you want to solo heal them and still do dps while in TSO. If they have no shard gear(and no raid gear) I find that I can barely solo keep them up, especially on named, even in DF with a poor team setup. However with an enchanter / bard on your team you should have no problems. So if your trying to solo heal the Forgemaster and the tank doesn't have Shard gear I hope you have a banging team that works together well with lots of debuffs. If your tank has some tier 1 gear you should have no problem healing. My heal rotation would be heat/cold ward, winds heal (to stoned to remember name), photosynthesis, purity once he gets a dot on him, and then just spam heals.
This was kinda muddy but I hope it helps.
edit: I have healed this way since I was in the 140s for AA. I am at 161aa atm.
Oh my god !
Please do not listen to that particular warden that only play for fast shards in optimized groups. It's fun to see those dudes expecting a dirge or whatever 3 hours just to save 10mn on an instance run.
People with mythical can do deep forge in auto attack mode, doing deep forge in such conditions is like doing vault for me, i can probably duo/trio this instance with our t2 tank -- while sleeping and watching tv and ...
So healing in deep forge mostly depend on how much damage is your tank taking (and also on his aas). You should check his resistances and his items, and well spec tanks with t1 should be ok there. I did the anchor (which is slightly harder) with all kind of tanks, with well geared ones all was trivial, with a ROK tank it was hell and we needed almost 3 healers
. We fianlly beated the beasty with our paper tank and i was much prouder than in my previous run there that were all in easymode with heavy metal tank.
Also try to interrupt and stun the bosses.
If you cannot keep him alive simply bring another healer, we often do deep forge with two wardens (very non optimal but i prefer fun to optimality ) one is hitting in melee spec and the other does most of the healing, but the second warden can give a hand if things get ugly.
For the last named try to keep has much HOT on the tank and group since this guy LOVE to teleport the healer when there is a unique healer. Whenever there is to healer he will teleport a dps. Till now i have never seen him porting the tank.
For the hammer don;t cure the trauma, since the trauma debuf protect you from the boss aoe. So don't kill all the hammer keep one up and don;t cure the trauma. At least it is what i have been told and never got problems.
What is fun is simply to try with the people that happen to be there
