I recently started trying to install the launcher of Everquest II again so I could start over. I've been having problems updating the game ever since, due to the Everquest II launch pad. Every time it updated files, saying they were complete, the update button never lit up. It gave me more and more files while the estimated time kept shooting up. I thought the game might have completed after three days of trying to install it on my computer, but when I went into the folder to actually play the game, I clicked "Everquest2.exe" and it let me log in to make a character. I found that not all areas in the game were complete. I also realized that the Launch Pad which updates the files wanted to update the files I already thought I had... such as drawing_007.dds. But after awhile of trying to obtain that file (and other incomplete files) it never downloaded it into the Sony folder. So, I'm now trying to re-install everything over again. I have a new graphics card... the ATI Radeon HD 3850 AGP, which I'm sure that the boards say they can support it as long as I don't install directX10. I think there is something wrong with the game itself, but I'm unsure. I don't think I need another graphics card because this one is much faster than the one I had.
I've played this game before on another computer with the Nvidia graphics card, and it still has an extremely long estimate time and most of the files were incomplete or unobtainable. Any help would be appreciated.
