LoN is worked on by the SOE Denver team (at least it was last I knew).  That team works on their other trading card games as well and I think developed Pirates of the Burning Sea.  There is NO ONE at SOE San Diego that works on LoN and certainly not a portion of the EQ2 team.  No resources are "wasted" on LoN at the expense of EQ2.

This has been said so many times already.  Could we PLEASE stop throwing those ignorant comments out?  Really.  If you want to complain that things are not done, don't blame LoN.

You think they have an eq2 artwork person in Denver?

You think the items and the xml definitions to make those items work are created in Denver?

You don't think meetings and discussions about said items happen outside Denver?

Yes, the card game itself is developed in Denver, I'm not sold that pieces of that development, items, procs, artwork, etc are not created in SD and / or assisted, approved thru, or the process in general leaves the SD team completely unencombered of LoN.

If I recall correctly it was a company that SOE purchased, so the answer to 99 percent of those questions is probably yes.

Not to mention the "Circle of Cash"

  • Everquest II (in this case) is the core game for LoN meaning that the majority of LoN players are interested in it because they play Everquest II.
  • LoN is owned by SoE and is essentially an "Add On" revenue booster to the MMoRPG's that it's attached too.  This means it provides additional revenue to an already existing product.
  • A Boost in Everquest II interest (i.e. improvements that bring in and retain more players) boosts LoN revenue.
  • As a buisness their going to look at the combined revenues of LoN, SC and EQ2 as a "package" and not look to take away from the primary product to support a product that won't stand alone.

LON bothers me none in the least, don;t care about it, don;t play it, I check it right now for the free booster packs. As far as it being integrated into the eq2, game client and having to patch, does not bother me in the least. This is a game to me and it will stay a game, if it starts getting me upset and frustrated, I will walk away and find something else. Everything you post is is basic business 101 - go into business to make money for yourself, and your stockholders
