They didn't charge you more then you expected, they just gave some other people some freebies. If you couldn't afford it before the promotional the promotional wouldn't have changed anything. If you could afford it well, you can still afford it.
Talk to CS. Maybe they'll be sympathetic. Maybe they won't. As another paying subscriber who missed out on the special but who isn't all that peeved over it I don't really care.
On the other hand, just for grins I made a new char and played the AB Neriak newbie zone tonight. It was pretty exciting hearing newbie discussions and realizing there were a LOT of people on who hadn't been playing -- apparently in a LONG while.
