i know they said that the skeletal revamp would be a Huge undertaking, and then they release the Sarnaks ,,,, Sarnaks are gangley and severly hunched over, the only thing i could compare them skeletaly to would be a Troll that is stuck on a 45 degree angle, it seems counter productive for them to have created a race like the sarnaks IF they wanted to go with 4 Basic skeletons for all the Races.
Maybe they are doing the skeletal models in small , meduim, large , and Gangly
" width="15" height="15">
seems all but Trolls Sarnaks and froglocks could fit into a standerd skeleton
and then looking at the Iksar skeletons they introduced in rok, why go thru the trouble of creating Mobs like iksar skeletons in the game if they are giong to have to revamp them to fit into a new model in a few months ?
anyway just wondering, i do hope they introduce the 4 new skeleton models so it free's up Dev time to work on better Itemization for ALL Armor Types : P , instead of the LAZY approuch of " well All classes can wear This gear so it was EASIER for me to just make that Junk gear , then actualy Make Gear designed for YOUR class that YOU chose to play " ( yeah i have a Plate healer and i am [Removed for Content] at 1/4 the amount of gear for my class in ROK)
The new models won't completely redesign the looks you are used to seeing in the game. They are upgrading the technology so that they can do more with them with less resources, but it won't be like loggin into a completely new game. Sarnaks are a pretty good example of this because they use the new skeleton. I believe that the sarnak skeleton is what allows Gorowyn to be such a compact city because there are tons of npcs there but the lag isn't too bad.
If you take a close look at the sarnak, their torso and legs are actually pretty normal. I think most male races have basically the same torso with the exception of dwarfs, halflings and ogres who are a little rounder in the middle. The two main reasons for the new skeletons is to make armor easier to design and cut down on resources for drawing characters. Any other reason you have been led to believe is a myth, or a perk, but not really the purpose.
