This will "open" it. There is a random chance you will get an in-game item loot card, but it is a very low chance. So people have already spent upwards to 1000$ for 100s of booster packs and maybe gotten a couple of items. I spent like 100$ and got two in-game cloaks, a painting, and three potions (EXP potion and AA, and Tradeskill potion) the same kind you get with veteran rewards. The mounts are the prized possession, but are so rare that you have to spend upwards to 500$ just to be able to have a real shot at getting one.IMO this is unethical and a complete rip off (even though they got me for 100$). SOE should be ashamed for doing this as people are spending LARGE sums of money just for the items, and I seriously doubt most people buying booster packs in bulk quantities will even play the game.EQ2 just took a turn for the worse with this idea, and you can be sure it will lead to nothing but more shady practices to get more money. There is a difference in can-do-somthing and should-do-something and SOE has officially crossed the line with LON in terms of the loot.Booster packs will drop in the game but the will be single packs, and as I said before, there is such a small chance on getting a mount (and lets face it that is what people want not some lame potion or painting) that you will literally have to have 100 or more of these to stand a good chance at getting it.You acquire the booster packs (unopened of course) from the bazaar then open them....and with such a low percentage of loot, you will go broke long before netting any real item.A turning point in MMOs is what we are witnessing, and a bad turning point at that. You can be sure they will sucker plenty of people into this scam (and that is what it is, a scam playing on peoples obsession with loot) and before you know it you will have spent hundreds or even thousands of real life $$$$ on this crap. This makes buying platinum from the Gold Farmers actually a viable alternative AND less expensive.Mark my words, this will start the wheel turning on SOE letting people buy items in game for real life money on all servers. It may not happen now, but it WILL happen. So...because some people are crazy and are so obsessed with a game they will spend money on something they won't use (the booster packs) just to have a chance to get an item for a MAKE BELIEVE CHARACTER...Sony is the big bad? You buy the packs to play the card game. The in game loot items are just an extra "perk" to help blend the games together. Just because some people have more money than sense doesn't mean Sony is masterminding some humongous plot. As a side note -- the people that would spend hundreds of dollars on booster packs but have no intention of playing the card game are the same type of people that would buy money from gold sellers. They don't see an issue with being incapable of playing a game naturally so they throw real life cash at it to offset their lack of skill. or are they?!?!? duh duh duhhh
