IF soe ever decided to make an FFA pvp server they wouldnt convert vox or naggy ( naggys to poulous and vox would loose them money ) no one would buy money on a sever where u could be killed by someone 60 levels higher than u can kill u in one shot and take it all
Look the point is that variety is good. Right now soe has 3 pvp servers which are all basically the same ruleset. Sure one is rp and another is exchange, but the pvp rules are all the same. EQ2 has no place for people to go who do not want their hand held. So why shouldn't there be at least one server that is ffa? If a newbee doesnt like the heat they would have the other servers to join. And, as for there being a population issue -- well that is why soe should change one of the servers to ffa not create a new one. As for VOX being converted -- well I dont know a single person who is happy being stuck on vox. I rolled my assassin on vox shortly after it came online. There is almost nobody left from those days -- they have all gone to the other servers. I would leave myself but I'm very attached to my toon. LF, TT, LOP, EF BS, BM, are all empty almost all the time. Vox is already dead, why not make it different to give it new life? SOE could offer peps free transfers on and off the server in anticpation of the change and then after the change continue the server the same as anyother. But right now, make no mistake, VOX is just a wasteland that turns off more people then it attracts to eq2.
Vox was just a bad idea. Something should be done about it. Hard to say what, though. It's exchange status makes everything kinda complicated.... Question to Vox players: Why on earth did you roll there in the first place? Just curious, that's all...
You know theres really not a good answer to that question for those of us that rolled on vox when it first came out. I am sure we have all asked ourselves the same questions.
SE pvp was implemented very poorly if you ask me. From the start they should have removed PvP titles from toons sold on the echange. Removing the ability to buy your title and removing the ability to buy titled toons to farm the titles would have went along way to giving vox a better reputation. The ability to just buy toons and plat IMO was a minor problem.
Regarless of what server you play on we all play with people who buy plat and occassionaly we play with people that bought toon through questionable means. that happens in just about every MMO out there. the only difference is that on vox you dont risk getting banned or having the account stolen back by the seller.
Vox is in trouble yes and it is very hard to say what to do about it. alot of players on vox like the SE service. Regardless of that the server is slowly dying. If your T7 and want to raid there are pretty much only 2 choices right now Freeport Asylum or Exile with Gromanns Reckoning. Eventually that might even dwindle till all thats left are the exiles. I am sure that even amongst the raiders there is the growing thought of Should I reroll on Naggy or venekor and just start over.
IMO they need to Freeze new listing's on the exchange. Let current listings expire. then remove Vox from the station exchange service. Then give vox 6 months to a year to shape up as a normal server. if in that time the server doesnt show signs of recovery then proceed to merge us into one of the remaining server's.

the biggest problem with that whole concept is that its a total farce

there are as many if not MORE people who buy plat on other servers like nagafen than on vox btu atleast when we do it were buying it from eachother ( i.e. Other players ) rather than buying to from some stupid chinese bot farmer company if i work my tail off and earn a lot of plat and dont need it its cool that i can but it up for sale to other players and vise versa and provides for one of the most stable in gam eeconamies of all the servers ( sure ther prices are a bit higher that many severs but there generaly consistant with only a littleflux on the t2 stuff with the advent of eof)

people roll on vox because they ahve the oppertunity i mean u work your rear off and earn plat and items etc. and oh look on the broker is that one last master spell you REALY need but cant quite afford well.... jsut hop on se real quick and spend a few bucks for tha tlittle extra you need and take comfort in the fact that your helping a fellow player

and even those taht dont use the se service benifit

the crafters and the looters and the harvesters all make more money on vox for there efforts than they would on the other servers because things have a bit higher value

tbh the one and ONLY reason the population is low on vox has nothing to do with the se service and EVERYTHING to do with the bitter players that left for nagafen ( they say for population but mostly because they couldnt compete outside of raid v raid pvp which nagafen is full of) then they run to the vox boards and constantly post about how vox is dead and or dying and deter new players form joining

and several of these same individuals also still have lowbie twinks on vox and they sit there in the newbie zones camping new players and griefing them till they reroll on a blue server or on a server like nagafen because they convince the new players that the twinking is because of exchange ( even though its jsut as bad if not worse on naggi )

its realy a sad state of affairs because the peopel taht bash vox mostly dont play there or hanvet left there towns in months to see the constant pvp and other fun things going on around them

there trapped in this the server is dying mentality to the point that they put up blinders and dont see the slow steady growth around them

when eof hit everyone complained of the server is dead because no one was camping the docks any longer simply because they dont want to accualy have to explore and hunt there ememys down they want them all waiting happy in one place its a rather sad statement about there playstyle and attitude but w/e
