When it does arrive, will there be patch notes? I'm not really clear what we are or aren't communicating other than just not talking about this conversation SMILEY, but if patch notes appear it will be pretty clear that GU 35 arrived on test early. If patch notes don't arrive, on the other hand, it's not exactly like we're going to have an objective to test, so the early arrival might just be sitting there waiting for someone to notice it.

Crazy idea, I know, it would sure be nice if a duly appointed representative of the Circle of Unseen Patches was willing to stay online for 60 minutes after the test server came back up. It seems like we're always logging in and going, 'So, what changed? Anybody know?' and then waiting until either notes appear or someone shows up and says, "So, did you notice the new menu command if you right click on the icon in the dialog box?" (Which, interestingly enough, someone often did).

Another, purely selfish benefit of that would be that I can think of at least five times where the server's come back and test channels didn't work; or you couldn't zone into instances; or a particular zone didn't come back; or mobs were under the world; or some other unintended side effect would happen; and we've sometimes had to wait for days to call it to someone's attention. Somebody just coming in after a server restart and broadcasting "Hi, logged in here for the next 60 minutes, let me know if there are issues with the restart by sending me a tell. I'll come back and look at all my tells every 30 minutes," would allow us to save our really good adjectives until later SMILEY

And finally, if you bounced the server without advance warning, being the one that had to come back and spend an hour with the testers would seem like an appropriate penance, don't you think?
