Those were taken at an in-game resolution of 1024 x 768 so it would deteriorate the quality to stretch them; but I will keep it in mind for future wallpaper projects.
As for the edges - I noticed that after I posted them, too. It's due to the blur filter and a simple fix would be to crop about 4 pixels from each side, in any image editor. Thanks for the comments!
