I'm on one of the servers that is affected by this change (Oasis).When the Steamfont people are merged over to come play with us, what will happen if there's an existing character of the same name as one of my characters?1. My characters, regardless of age, will all retain their existing name and the Steamfont player's names will be altered?2. Each character will be compared, with the older one retaining the name and the newer one being altered?Obviously, I would much prefer #1.
(If one of the red name folk could also clarify the same situation as it applies to guilds, that would be great.)Whilst I'm not thrilled about server merges, if it will result in healthier server populations across all the servers and better performance due to the extra hardware then I think it is probably for the best.I've never really had the feeling that any zones have been underpopulated, but I generally solo or group with friends anyway. And the guild I'm in always seems to have quite a few people online and gaming. So long as the game performance stays the same (and better yet, if Zek performance stops sucking) I can mainly see positives to the Steamfont folks joining us.
