Let anyone with an Illusion that is of a good race into Qeynos (same with Freeport but evil illusion). For Neutral races, they would have to take on a good/evil Illusion to get into the opposing city.  That includes those with Petrified eyes. Give Illusions to Illusionists and some to Coercers. Let disguise work for Brigands. It should be just like it was in EQ1, if you had the Illusion to get into a city, you got in. If your faction wasn't high enough, you could get in, but you couldn't do any quests.  Have a faction modifier on the Illusions (+20K to opposing city and -80K to home city). Give certain classes (i.e. Scouts and Enchanters) a faction modifying ability, and require certain levels of faction to complete quests based in a city. Use your Illusion in the wrong place and you can get killed. Have the guards not kick you out, but flat out kill you. With no shards anymore, I don't know why guards kick you out instead of kill.I also think that a character should be able to get to bank in both cities if they work hard enough to get the ability. The faction modifying abilities/spells should be hard to get/upgrade. Then if you can get to amiable with the city via disguise and faction modifiers you should be able to bank. Heck why not even be able to do writs? I love the idea of a Human Brigand (let's face it we are Rogues, swashies can remain flambouyant) playing both sides against each other. In EQ1, a Dark Elf Enchater could complete the Stein of Moggok quest. Four levels earlier than any other enchanter. The fact that Enchanters don't get Illusions worth a d@mn in EQ2 has kept my Enchanter in the teens. It was a great aspect of the game, and very immersive. In EQ1 not all race/class combos were created equal, many complained but I liked it. What is EQ2, the socialist version of EQ1?Just saw this was a year old. I take it illusions still don't do squat for access to opposing cities.
