What will becomes earlier? priest balancing or DDO release?
And that could be it for me and EQ2. It's a shame - I played EQ1 for 5 years and, on the whole, was very happy. I'm a big fan - but I'm sure I'm not alone in finding EQ2 an irritating, frustrating experience currently and for some time.
I think EQ2 is a great game, but for me (and most mystics, I think) it's flawed in so many ways such that it seriously detracts from the whole experience. Personally, it's been annoying for some time, but far from unbearable - now? *shrug* I don't play very often (spend more time on the XBox) and I'll be looking at DDO and other games to get my MMO fix.
It's a shame, really. I guess SOE, as a whole, are happy with a less demanding, smaller player-base. I'd be fooling myself to think EQ2 will 'fail' without players like me, but, good grief, if EQ1 could keep me coming back regularly for 5 years, they are missing out on a lot of revenue if us 'demanding' players drift away.
The last few months as a mystic have left a bad taste in my mouth that isn't going away. For want of some more effort in communication and more effort in fixing mistakes I'm going to drift off and find something else less frustrating to play. I'm not saying the current staff having done all they can, maybe they need more staff, but it's not my place to worry about their problems - all I can do is express my concerns here and, ultimately, cancel subscription.
I don't have much hope left.
