My main is a Templar and I rolled up a Fury alt and have never looked back. I have seen wardens in action and I wouldn't want to reroll for anything. Playing a Fury has been such a delightful experience even grinding through the levels again. While the sheer healing power can't match some of the other healing classes, the proc buffs, dps effects, and other unique Fury perks are just plain fun.
Comparing Templar to Fury soloing, its no contest... my Fury was doing better dps than my 50 Templar in her 20s probably or close to it
Alot of people I know don't think Furys are that great or just have a bad image of them but they usually don't know what they're talking about. I definitely recommend Fury over Warden unless you just want to have some of the stronger heals; I personally don't feel its worth the sacrifice of all the other things a Fury has to offer.
