It happened to me once last night and I just dismissed the situation as an anomaly. I was in PoF resting for a few minutes from an encounter when my pet just took off running across the zone. I just hit /pet back off and the pet came running back. It wasn't something that happened from my prior fight since I had not been in combat for at least 30 seconds or so. That is the only time I saw this happen.
