I'm not sure what you're doing Bawang, but my Illusionist's personae can never keep aggro over my Illusionist. He roots, stuns and stifles over and over again - moreso than he tries to nuke. Most of the time, if the NPC is hitting the personae instead of me, its because the personae has rooted the monster.

Summon your Construct pet and pay close attention to what it does. The Construct pet is a fighter, and it actually taunts. He does fairly good damage, but if/when he dies, all of his aggro gets attributed to you. SMILEY
