Icedragon has the all the reasons right methinks. I personally found that Dark Distortion Adept 3 outdamaged BSS till I was about level 36 or 37. After that BSS definately does more damage AND the life tap that it does is VERY helpful. But in all honesty, I used Dark Distortion Adept 3 till about level 36 so I really got like 13 levels of use with that spell. Not bad for the 15 G I paid for the jasper
