There are less Warlocks because Wizard is a more trendy class. I took Warlock to be different, which worked out well since we do quite a bit more damage than a Wizard since the patch. Having said that, play what you want to play, play what looks more interesting. If you want to poison and disease, play a Warlock, if you want to drop balls of fire and ice from the sky, play a Wizard.
