I'll test this.I've never seen proximity aggro work the way you describe. It's entirely possible to pull a group of mobs over your entire group. I don't see why your pet would prove any more attractive than a player. Can you provide any parses showing that familiars do affect resist rates? I'd think this would already be a well known feature if it were actually true.Considering it's meant to be a fluff spell I'd imagine any benefits are entirely uninentional... beyond the obvious comedy value anyway.
There is no proximity aggro. When pet gets hit by barrage which is an ae attack, pet will aggro the mob or the encounter - simple reasoning. Same goes for ae spells hitting pets.Pets will never prove more attractive than players, and I did not mention otherwise anywhere. If you want any parses, go do them yourself. If you think the pet is a fluff spell, don't spend the money on it, or don't even bother to cast it. If these benefits are unintentional, by all means do a /petition and ask for nerfs to warlocks familiars. It sure doesn't pay to share on the forums. There are a couple more invaluable tricks you can conjure up with the familiar, but this post ticked me off so much that I would just keep them to myself and my warlock guildies.
