I guess I'm interpreting the description differently than you. A heat dot component of the heat based spell cremate should count as another heat based spell striking the opponent for each dot tick. Thats clear as day to me. I did notice the increase in the surge line, and adept 1 inferno surge max int does 30-40 dmg/tick for about 90-120 additional heat dmg.
