Mein gott! Stop talking out your [Removed for Content] like Jim Carrey and... better yet, just shut up. You do NOT speak for the majority. I don't give a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] what the community as a whole thinks of monks. Monks are tanks. Period. We are part of the Fighter archetype which is meant to fulfill the role of a TANK, in all situations: raid and group. Get used to it and get over it. If you do not want to tank, go play a monk in EQ1. Please. I'm tired of your whining.

I actively work within my server community to show people just how good of a tank I can be. When I have people who thank me for out tanking a guardian or a zerker, it makes me proud of just how [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] well I play a monk. Especially considering our taunting ability is limited compared to what the other plate tanks have. I know how to use all the tricks to keep aggro, but a determined guardian can steal aggro despite those tricks.

Monks have two problems. One, heavy plate tanks avoid attacks just as well or better than monks because of the way the defense skill works. Two, our ability to taunt is not as well rounded as the other fighter classes. This can be overcome by skilled players. I should run CombatStats and see if I can outdps scouts my level. Actually, I can test this myself.

I have a lvl 24 Dirge and a lvl 24 Monk. I also have a lvl 24 Paladin. Should be interesting if I can figure out how to use CombatStats. Um... where do I find Combat Stats out? ::giggles:: I can only find Statylyzer from the Scout's Sancutary.
