Incorrect.  Deflection does nothing for a plate tank.  Parry directly affects our avoidance, parry is also tied to ripostes.  I'm thinking you ment to type deflection instead of parry. SMILEY
Inregards to the OP,Its a toss up, in theory mitigation should = avoidance.  Unfortunately this is not the case.  2% avoidance, is 2% chance to take zero damage from that 1000 pnt hit, when 2% mitigation results in 980 damage.Depends on your play style, like Khalad said.  I'm a fan of Mitigation, but have been leaning towards increasing my avoidance where i can.  In the end, I think a decent balance of both, but favoring mitigation (since its our thing, as a plate tank), might be the best situation.
