Well for the absolute best starting stats barbarian seems to be it. Kerra and dwarf are also good choices. Even woodelf wouldnt be too bad, the high agility can offset the low Str and Sta.

I have found that with scout types poison makes a huge difference. If a scout is using 2 good poisons for his level it will add 20-30 DPS. I almost always outdamage scouts when they dont use poison....
