coercers kill named rather easly if slowly.  even without a pet they mez, root, and nuke.  repeat.  but with a casting pet its signifigantly faster.

in EQL necros can "feed" their pets dropped weapons and armor.  mostly special items summoned from magicians for pets would give the pet nice melee damage boosts, haste, damage procs, resistance...
