<p>Pally would not be a terrible choice at all.  They keep aggro like champs, good survivabilty for anything you will most likely do, which will allow you to actually be a ranger as you level.</p>

<p>I've always used an inquis merc, and it has worked very well for me.  Leveling up (if i can remember that far back) damage was never an issue, it was health, and the inquis merc works really well...
