Looking forward to this year's event, I went a couple years ago and had a great time.

Before I found the link for the hotel discount code from the SOE Live page, I checked prices at Planet Hollywood and got an average $99.20 room quote as noted below:

Using the SOE Discount code, my average price was 104.00 for the same stay, as seen here:

Not a huge deal, but doesn't seem right. Is this a mistake?

Sorry my first post is a negative one, just trying not to pay more than I need to.

Thanks,

SD

No that is right, right now the Caeser properties have a sale going on. The prices SOE negotiate will stay the same till at least July 10th. You may or may not be able to get cheaper prices before then. They run promotions on and off throughout the year. The same depending on If you are a Total Rewards member , you may get better offers. I can Guarantee though being an August date that the closer it gets , the regular prices will be way higher; especially the Fri and Sat dates.

|

anyone know if one can sale things on the side without being a vender, like outside the convention?

|

Flight booked ...hotel reserved ..... now the wait , glad to see new location hope they treat us better than last years location did. Dont get me wrong last year was still fun and informative as always just not up to the same lvl as previous events.

Is Veturika coming this year again?

hopefully I'll get my settlement from my car accident in time to bring my wife and kids with me for my first time. Didn't play much everquest was busy in the military, but EQOA made me buy 2 playstations 2 and dual box them, lol. Then EQ2 got me into computers more than I thought I ever would be, I almost live on this pc now. I am really looking forward to getting there and seeing it all for the first time, plus haven't been to vegas in 20 years either. Hope to see you all there.

Does anyone know what the price of SOELive generally is? When will this information, along with the schedule, be released? It will be my first time, and will be bringing my wife, too.

Also, are small children welcome at SOELive?

I am not currently playing any game, but I was addicted to Everquest back in the day and am excited about EQNext. Will this event be at all stimulating for me, considering that I'm not playing anything at the moment?

Thanks all!

By far the most expensive part is hotel and airfare.

Trazick wrote:

Also, are small children welcome at SOELive?

There was a kidzone last year.

Trazick wrote:

I am not currently playing any game, but I was addicted to Everquest back in the day and am excited about EQNext. We have no idea what percent of the event will be dedicated to EQNext. You might be a bit bored, or you might strike up some great conversations and reminisce about EQ.

Looking forward to attending SOE Live this year! A few of my guildies and I attended in 2011 at Bally's. In regard to the issue about smoking and attendees having to walk through clouds of cigarette smoke, I have a suggestion... being a smoker myself it was a pain to have to walk all the way back to the casino to have a puff. When I first arrived I noticed many ashtrays around the 'convention area'. When I headed to a more secluded area within the SOE hallway I was told by hotel staff that SOE had instructed them that there was to be no smoking there. So, off we went to the casino. Everytime I went, there were 10-15 other attendees standing right in the pathway to the convention. Smokers generally don't try to be ignorant, and we are all fully aware of the health risks for everyone, but if you make us walk a mile for a puff we will stop as soon as we get to the 'smoking permitted' area. If SOE has any say in the matter, could you PLEASE make a smoking area for your attendees that is away from everyone else, but not at the entrance to the event... have us walk to the far end of the event area...even better out a door to the outside but not miles away from the action and NOT at the entrance to the festivities.

See you in August!

Afternoon,

I have never had the oppurtunity to go to an SOE event in the past. I play EQ2 all the time and would like to see what the Fan Faire experience is like. Can it sell out? There is a co-worker here who always goes on about the Blizz Conn and says it sells out in minutes... I can't hold the website up at work for hours hoping i get to buy tickets.. I dont know how this all works.. but i already bought hotel and airfare tickets to attend... Any insight as to maybe calming my soul?

Thanks All...

Rock

|

Rockheart, no you should be fine. It doesn't sell out like that. The one thing that will is if they offer any other additional options like the Dev brunch and the Planetside Laser tag they did last year. The dev brunch went really well last year, so I expect that to sell out fast, but in terms of days most likely and not minutes. The Planetside 2 laser tag will probably go pretty quick again this year too. Of course thats If they do both those options again this year, there may be entirely new paid additional options instead or more. If not wanting to do any additional options , you should have like 2 months to get the tickets if like usual; though If like last few years pay attention to when early bird registration ends that usually only lasts a few weeks to a month. The nice advantage to the early bird tickets is they are cheaper and you will get the badges in the mail, letting you bypass having to pick up the badge onsite.

|

Also Rockheart Blizzcon pre lists a small number of slot available so when you post a limit, then you restritict attendace and sell fast. Dont know if SOE live has a limit but I know its always been a good group and fun time. I have been to 6 (5 fan faires and the only other SOE LIVE)

|

Any chance for a "Player Studio" panel??? *batts her baby blues*

LOL this was hinted at on the PS forms by someone else. I would be all for this! I so want to go to my first SOE Live / Fan Fair,.. and this would be the icing on the cake, so to speak!

|

This often happens this early in the booking season. Grab the cheaper rate...

I am waiting for the Venetian to send me offers for July to book up the rest of the week...

|

We made reservation in PH. I poked around alot but SOE convention rate was best. Also if you make reservation other places I was told $20 extra resort fee will be added. I couldn't get any additional discount with AAA or total rewards. Will keep poking around for prices, since its still early.

Hope we are going to have pool party again. It'll be nice and hot!? not burrr freezing like last year.

Please make it clear what ruffles are for this time. We thought it was usual ruffle tickets used in last party. (yes we are repeaters) By the time we found out its for wheel, line was a mile long=P. We spent over an hour standing in line and most of prizes were gone too. If we knew it we'd done it much earlier. I've seen no one was there at some point. I should've asked what it was for. but...

Hope it'll change because new hotel, Balley's banquete hall was FREEZING cold from AC at all occasions.

I missed funny movies you guys make from EQ or EQ2

peace out
